UE4 Third Person shooter project

UE4 third Person shooter project.

Action with some Soulsborne elements

A big project for the third person shooter, made in Unreal Engine 4. The game is made in C++ predominantly with some additional effects, created in Blueprints, as well as animation and other elements related to UI.

An aim of this project is to learn C++ in game engines, its patterns and how to combine visual programming (Blueprints) and C++ in one project.

At this moment the game has:

• Camera/animation/sound settings
• HUD
• VFX effects made in Blueprints
• One character with complete animation
• One simple level with randonmly spawned enemies
• Three types of weapons and damages
• Inventory for weapons
• Simple AI for enemies, which attack in the case appearing in a their visibility area.

A test of movement and shooting abilities with different kinds of weapons and reloading. Also an ability of fast movement was added though it needs better visualization.

In total, it took about 30 hours from start to end. In the result, there is one completed level with most typical elements of the action game. For the future, this project can be developed further with modification of the AI, adding general inventory, customization of the character, or multiplayer regime.
