Linear Regression

• Climate Change: Study the relationship between average global temperature and several other factors.
• Detecting Flu Epidemics via Search Engine Query Data: Estimate influenza-like illness (ILI) activity using Google web search logs.
• ForeCasting Elantra Sales: Predict monthly sales of the Hyundai Elantra in the United States.
• Reading Test Scores: Predict the reading scores of students from the United States of America on the 2009 PISA exam.
• State Data: Explore the “state” dataset, which has data from the 1970s on all fifty US states. For each state, the dataset includes the population, per capita income, illiteracy rate, murder rate, high school graduation rate, average number of frost days, area, latitude and longitude, division the state belongs to, region the state belongs to, and two-letter abbreviation.

Logistic Regression

• Predicting Loan Repayment: Using publicly available data from LendingClub.com to predict the loans that was not paid back in full.

Decision Tree

• Letter Recognition: Build a Random Forest model that automatically recognize letters.
• Predicting Earnings from Census Data: Using census information about an individual to predict how much a person earns – in particular, whether the person earns more than $50,000 per year.
• Understanding Why People Vote Using both logistic regression and classification trees to understand how people vote.
