texture64's Issues

Textures not displayed?!

Hi, Regarding the new 0.2 release I tried to view the textures of several games, including SM64 and MK64. Unfortunately, I've got only pixel gibberish, see the attached file. No matter the format (PAL/NTSC) or the color palette, it never seems to work. Any ideas?
Texture64

limited functionality with drag-and-drop

this had me scratching my head for a few minutes. pretty easy to reproduce:

  • run a new instance of texture64
  • drag and drop a file to load it
  • try to scroll while hovering over any viewport, doesn't work
  • left- or right-clicking has no effect either

workaround:

  • use the Open dialog at least once

Texture64 caps image width at 512

Images can be wider (eg. Donkey Kong 64 Jetpac Font is 1024x8 (0x11272C8 and 0x1127522 in decompressed ROM)). Texture64 doesn't support this, requiring image editing to see how it looks.

Request for feature

Would it be possible to point to a folder where a user has decrypted a ROM, and have the ability to jump forwards and backwards in the BIN files to view each one with out having to open them manually?

It would also be nice for the program to remember that last custom resolution used to view the BIN files too.

Making edits this way would be a little quicker, and finding and mapping the coordinates of each texture would be helpful when working on large re texture projects. Maybe the resolution mapping can be shared?

FEATURE REQUEST: Command line switches for use in scripts

It would be very cool to have command line switches where Texture64 is launched in a headless state and can, knowing offsets and format, export/import PNGs

Examples:

texture64.exe export some.file 0x01234 -codec:ci4 -palette:0x0123 some.png
texture64.exe import some.png some.file 0x01234 -codec:ci4

textures all jumbuled up

now someone else had this issue but there wasnt clear tools on how to fix it before it got closed

Feature request: Show currently-hovered byte offset

Ideally somewhere in the status bar? Or it could have its own ui element.

The idea would be to allow a quick visual of what byte the cursur is hovering over, with bits displayed as well if relevant (0x100+2b)

Pallet File Required?

I am sorry if this sounds stupid but I have tried figuring this out on my own but not 100% sure so figured I would ask here.

I am trying to open a game to look at the images, the file format is .z64. I for the life of me cannot find any images in it and have tried all of the Codec options.

Am I missing something?

I would truly appreciate some help.
