Know Your Cibo

Know Your Cibo is a web application designed to help users discover and rate different foods. Simplify the process of reviewing and accessing food-related information for IIT Kanpur's hall canteens and food stalls through an intuitive and user-friendly platform.

Features

• User Registration and Authentication: Users can create accounts, log in, and log out securely.
• Browse Foods: Users can browse through a variety of foods available on the platform.
• Search Functionality: Users can search for specific foods using keywords.
• Food Ratings and Reviews: Users can rate and review foods, sharing their experiences with others.
• User Profiles: Each user has a profile page where they can see their activity and contributions.
• User Feedback: User given report to help admins for the betterment of website

Technologies Used

• Node.js: Backend server environment.
• Express.js: Web application framework for Node.js.
• MongoDB: NoSQL database for storing user data, food information, and ratings.
• HTML: Markup language for creating web pages.
• CSS: Stylesheet language for designing the layout and appearance of web pages.
• JavaScript: Programming language for adding interactivity and dynamic behavior to web pages.

Running the code

For getting this project setup, you can clone the repository to create a local copy on your system

  git clone https://github.com/RushikeshChary/KnowYourCibo.git

Then, open a terminal and change into the KnowYourCibo folder using the following command:

  cd KnowYourCibo

Install dependencies:

Install the required dependencies , you can find them in requirements.txt file

  npm install

Now you can open the webiste on your own system with this command:

  npm start

After this navigate to http://localhost:3000 or click the same link that will be shown in the terminal
