licensed-mental-health-counselors-browser's Introduction

Hi, Hello, Welcome!

I'm Angel Piscola. I'm a Senior Software Engineer at Honeybee Health! Previously, I was at Role, Inc making https://www.playrole.com. I've got 5 years experience working on customer-centric Virtual TableTops, and another 4 years on top of that working in a variety of industries, including ecommerce, b2b saas, and fintech at American Express!

๐Ÿ“ Open Source Projects

These are projects I've started or contributed to that hold a special place in my heart.

Built on Next.js & Supabase, raid.exchange helps Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players organize and plan their pokemon raids!

Built on Next.js & OpenAI's ChatGPT API, Mystery Express Co is a ChatGPT driven murder mystery game in the form of a detective's journal. A real life murder has occured on a murder mystery train, and it's up to the players to investigate various clues and interview suspects in order to find the perpetrator and bring them to justice!

The github readme has a lengthier write-up but it was a lot of fun integrating with OpenAI's API and figuring out the nuances of ChatGPT!

This project won First Overall at Major League Hacking's AI Hackfest on May 14th, 2023.

Switch from now.sh to a different hosting provider

Now.sh has gone fully "Serverless" and now limits the total number of invocations a server route can have, to the best of my knowledge. Right now it looks like the best course of action would be to stick this project on a digital ocean droplet I have running.

If I'm misunderstanding anything about now's new architecture please let me know!

Create a roadmap.

It is usually a good idea to articulate the direction in which one wants to proceed to make it more transparent for contributors and for themselves as well, really.
Things that could be considered:

  • Final goal
  • List of desired features in the order of importance
  • Maybe even a mockup or two?

This is not a definitive list, and not a call for action. Just a suggestion.

Server should use Typescript

ts-node + @babel/register + @babel/polyfill can be used for dev, and we can transpile w/ tsc/babel to run our prod server from build/

Process data in order to implement category based searching

Blocks #1.

Data needs to be processed more. Instead of passing the array of values directly through, ideally each counselor collection needs to be converted to an object. Similar fields should be combined by type (E.g. Mailing address fields / practice address fields.

Mailing Address: 6 fields
Number: 2 fields
Practice Address: 5 fields

If we can combine these together, we can display them better.

Styling

The site is barebones. Make it look better so it's easier to look at and pleasant to use!
