Summary

Northcoders News is a social news aggregation, web content rating, and discussion website.

Northcoders News has articles which are divided into topics. Each article has user curated ratings and can be up or down voted using the API. Users can also add comments about an article.

NC News was built using JavaScript, Node.js, React.js, Express.js. Also followed TDD principles and used Jest for testing both frontend and backend. Front End UI hosted on Netlify and Backend API hosted on Render.

Getting Started

This project was bootstrapped with Create React App.

How to clone

1. First fork the repo to your own Github account.
2. Then make a local copy of the repo by running git clone https://github.com/reed756/nc-news.git

Install dependencies

Dependencies can be installed for this project by running npm install

Available Scripts

In the project directory, you can run:

npm start

Runs the app in the development mode.
Open http://localhost:3000 to view it in your browser.

The page will reload when you make changes.
You may also see any lint errors in the console.

Minimum Requirements

Please use Node version v17.0.1 to run this project.
