I think our general policy should be to fork and adopt all engines that have a stable version. We can give commit rights to the original authors, but this gives us the advantage of central organization (and easy finding via the github search), and removes the chance that valuable plugins will have a huge amount of open tickets.

This hasn't worked well in the past, it just places increased burden on a smaller group of contributors.
