os-x-generic-usb3's Issues

System halts before shutting down, restarting, and sleeping

Background: I was having an issue with my hackintosh where the system halted before shutdown/restart/sleep. The system halted for 10-20 seconds. It only halted when I had my mouse and/or keyboard plugged in.

After removing the kext, I did not have this problem. The issue persisted even after compiling the latest sources from this repo.

This /r/hackintosh post has more information.

Various system information (If you need more ask me!):

OS X 10.10.2
GA-Z87MX-D3H

Keyboard: Microsoft Sidewinder X4
Mouse: Gigabyte M6880

There is no halt when both the mouse and keyboard aren't plugged in. If either one is plugged in, then there is a halt. For this reason I doubt it is an issue caused by either one of them.

Please look into this issue RehabMan

Thank you!

Audio Stopped after installing

Hi RehabMan. With this my NEC USB3 started working, all the ports. But it caused one problem. Now my Intel HD Audio which I made to work by using VoodooHDA.kext stopped working. Is it a know problem? Is there any solution? If all else doesn't work I'd like to get my Audio back at the cost of losing USB3, I'll be happy to provide any information

Resume from sleep

This driver works perfectly fine on 10.13.6 on my Lenovo x220, except for one little thing : the connected hard drive is disconnect and reconnected at wake.

The USB controller, on this laptop is the NEC Renesas uPD720200. Is there a way to have resume from sleep to work ? Should I use a patched AppleXHCI kext instead of GenericUSBXHCI.kext ?

Any idea ?
Thanks.

Problem with shutdown

Im glad this kext enables the USB3 ports on my ASUS P8P67 Pro Rev3.0 so a big thank you first. No other kext or solution I tried was able to do this and regarding the answer in this blog no other solution will do: Link.
But when I add the kext, the system doesn't shutdown anymore, it just waits and then restarts. I had this problem earlier and I was able to fix it by disabling the "FixShutdown" ACPI patch. I already tried to re-enable it but without success. Im running OS X Mojave.

Asmedia 1042 on Sierra

Hello,

There seems to be an issue with the Asmedia 1042 USB 3.0 controller.
The ports work if - 1) There is a device plugged into them at boot up. - or - 2) I am already booted, I plug something in (nothing) I unplug and plug it back in. It shows up.

I see on older osx versions someone reported a similar issue and it was closed out.

Thanks.

Yosemite

Is it possible to make it work with yosemite ? The driver gets loaded and i can see it in "about this mac", but attached devices don't connect.

KP with El Capitan

Hi, kext not working under 10.11 (Gets Kernel Panic on boot). USB 3.0 Controller - NEC upd720202 on expresscard slot

Power management in High Sierra

I was using this package for months in Sierra with no problem. After upgrading to High Sierra, Shutdown caused the system restart and sleep did not wake. After so much searching and try and error I found out that by removing this kext, shutdown and sleep both fixes! This good old library has power management issues with High Sierra (At least 10.13.4+). I am using an NEC (renessas) USB3 PCI-e card on Gigabyte SandyBridge mainboard.
