Run cpplint with reviewdog

GitHub Action: Run cpplint with reviewdog

This action runs cpplint with reviewdog on pull requests to improve code review experience.

Inputs

github_token

Required. Must be in form of github_token: ${{ secrets.github_token }}'.

level

Optional. Report level for reviewdog [info,warning,error]. It's same as -level flag of reviewdog. Default is error.

reporter

Reporter of reviewdog command [github-pr-check,github-pr-review]. Default is github-pr-check.

reviewdog_flags

Additional reviewdog flags. Default is ''.

flags

Optional. List of arguments to send to cpplint. Default is --extensions=h,hpp,c,cpp,cc,cu,hh,ipp.

filter

Optional. List of filter arguments to send to cpplint. Default is --filter="".

targets

Optional. List of file list arguments to send to cpplint. Default is --recursive.

action-cpplint's Issues

No release version of `action-cpplint`

Even though this action is used by a number of repositories there is currently no release of the action-cpplint action.

• Is there a plan to create a release?
• Are there specific reasons why there is currently no release?

If `--filter` is empty, then the default filters should use cpplint defaults

The default cpplint behavior for an unspecified --filter flag is to turn all flags on by default (source):

# The default state of the category filter. This is overridden by the --filter=
# flag. By default all errors are on, so only add here categories that should be
# off by default (i.e., categories that must be enabled by the --filter= flags).
# All entries here should start with a '-' or '+', as in the --filter= flag.

with the exception of build/include_alpha disabled for C++ and readability/casting disabled for C.

This action disables build/include_order by default which does not match with cpplint. Please change the action behavior to match cpplint's defaults.
