cbmtapepi's Issues

Some feature requests/wishes

Feature requests:

  1. Use „-“ to delete files (instead or in parallel to “rm ...”)
  2. Soft reset of the PI via command from CBM (e.g. !resetPI)
  3. support loading/saving of PRG/TAP files on USB stick

External ACT LED

I would like to place the CBM Tape Pi into a case. With that I can no longer see the ACT LED blinking. Can this be reconfigured to a GPIO pin?

Details on Fastload protocol

Hello RhinoDevel,
it would be great if you could share some details on the fastload protocol.
I am currently using a DIY (Arduino based) Tapuino "datasette".
A fastmode for it would be fantastic.

Alex

HW possible review?

Hi, first of all, congrats for your great project! 👍
I was wondering: would it be feasible/correct to replace the 4 transistors with a Bi-Directional Logic Level Converter such as this one
https://www.adafruit.com/product/757
therefore simplifying the circuit further, and (most probably) protect both sides from wrong voltages (I'm thinking both about inadventent I/O toggles, and C64 & Pi power on/offs)?

Thank you very much, and KUTGW! 👍

Need troubleshooting tips

Hello,
my CBM tape PI (RPi 1) was working perfectly fine. But today it gives me some headache.
I enabled the debug kernel and it shows:

...
kernel_main : Mode to use has value 0.
cmd_enter : Entered function.
tape_receive: Setting sense line to LOW at CBM..
tape_receive: Receiving data..
tape_receive_buf: Motor is OFF, waiting..
tape_receive_buf: Motor is ON, starting..

The last line appears after turning on the Pet (CBM8032).
What would be next after "tape_receive_buf: Motor is ON, starting.." normally? An LOAD command from the Pet shows "Searching" for ever and no output on the Debug console.

How to switch off fast mode?

Hello,
I am missing an example in the README.md on how to turn off fast mode. Looking at the code, it should be mode="save".
So it is "!mode save" or is it SAVE"MODE SAVE"?
Alex
