This is very old, and I do not maintain it, if it works for you, woot, if not, you can commit or assist with updates as you like.

The electron video player is developed to be a simple and intuitive desktop app with supprt for Windows, Mac and Linux. It plays video files from both your local machine and the interwebs. It was developed using GitHub's Electron

electron-video-player's Issues

Allow URL for video to be supplied.

Should be able to stream videos from online.

change play/pause button with play state events

We need event handlers for play state on top of what we already have to auto change the play pause button.

We should handle all play states.

make fullscreen button work

player should toggle full screen when fullscreen button is pressed.

mkv didn't play

i have download the mkv 20 MB for 1280x720 Resolution on this site:
http://www.sample-videos.com/index.php#sample-mkv-video

but they can't load it

Drop zone UI needed

need to display a UI for the drop zone so users clearly understand this is how to play a video.

Show volume level

volume level should display when changed or hovered.

Interwebs Large video files give an error on play

needs to wait for progress, can play or leaded etc.

Video Play overlay

need a play button over the video to let users know it is playable by clicking video.

need to display an error when video cant load/play or invalid

There is no notice to the user that something has gone wrong

How do I build and run this app?

I'm new to electron...

should be able to mute

should have mute functionality

show controls when paused.

any time the player is in a known pause state, the controls should show.

Create binaries for v1.0.0 release

issue with fullsceen exit button size

it jumps to the next line for some reason.

Mouse over and mouse fade

The player controls and progress bar should be temporarily visible when mousing over video player.
The mouse should fade away after an amount of time of inactivity when hovering over player or in full-screen mode.

create custom chrome for the window

create custom skin for player close maximize etc.

Allow enter and space to play/pause movie

these two shortcuts are important.

close button should only show when hovered or when video paused

this is a more immersive and minimalist approach.

should show time info in progress bar

should show something like

2:30/5:50 in the progress bar.

Allow user to choose video with a button

allow user to open and play a video via a button

Should be able to easily open new video

currently unless you skip to the end of the video, you can not open a new video
