promoting POIs from higher zooms

Would be great to postprocess the generated database and promote some of the POIs from higher zooms to populate lower zoom levels if those are empty. That would allow to keep sane number of POIs on overview levels, but not leave them empty. For that, one just has to select (randomly?) a POI at a level lower (or if that is empty, even lower) and move it to a level above.

Hi,
can you please give me a hint about using these carto css files in mapnik?should I convert them into mapnik xml map?

amenity fuel is not using the same notation as others

all other amenities specify icon directly . same approach should be uses for fuel type

i want to konw which the mapnik version for this project, thanks.
i use mapbox Tilemill v0.10.1 to load the project.mml but report the error.
so which version of the mapnik and tilemill are fit to it?

Converting database into a vector tile database

Hi,
I noticed converted data in spatilite faces a modest performance, So I thought that it would be good if we can convert data base into a vector tile format, There are some changes need be be done in input plugins for mapnik to render based on x,y,z but I have no idea about converting database into vector tile format. do you have any idea about this?does it make any changes at all?

Countries like Latvia, Guatemala are missing borders on import. This leads to impression of deformed countries, as in rinigus/osmscout-server#166
