Symbols from company package not available

I obtained the error

Symbol's function definition is void: company--active-p

when using the code from your blog post as-is. The obvious solution is to add (require 'company) to the configuration. Maybe it helps anyone.

no pressure to implement i havent bothered to myself either but there is some prompt engineering vscode probably does that is reverse engineered in this article

(tho given age of the article might be due for an update by running binary through gpt3 or 4 lol to disassemble vscode binary (assuming it's a binary))
