clean-uninstall's Issues

Open Cleaner button does not work

Same problem as robzuc from the site's discussion section - the open cleaner button does nothing. I followed your instructions (clearing console, disabling and re-enabling add-on). Here is the console: http://i.imgur.com/IRMLnHv.png.

FF 45.0.1
Latest version of the add-on

Edit: Turns out it opens if I access the add-on's options from the about:addons page. I had been attempting to use it in my sidebar. I guess it's a separate bug, then - it doesn't work when accessed from a sidebar.

Possible WebExtension support

Hello, do you plan on converting this add-on into a WebExtension in preparation for Mozilla's upcoming changes in Firefox 57? Is it even possible given the level of functionality granted by WEs?

Thank you for reading.

Version 0.2.0 stopped working in Pale Moon 27

After upgrading from version 0.1.9 to 0.2.0, I noticed that Clean Uninstall stopped working. Clicking on the Open Cleaner button opens... nothing. Clean Uninstall does not try to delete any preferences when extensions are removed. Although it will install, it does not function.

This is in Pale Moon 27.4.2 (64-it) for Ubuntu 14.04.5 . Other Pale Moon users have noticed this, too.

I downgraded to version 0.1.9, and everything works.

remove old settings from addons deinstalled previous to clean-uninstall

hi,
will it be possible (anywhen) to have clean-uninstall list all settings in prefs.js which are from very old installations of addons where clean-uninstall wasn't installed?

I have a lot of settings of deinstalled addons which clean-uninstaller will never remove, because the addon isn't installed anymore.

deleting the entries by hand via notepad is the way I use now every once a while, but it would be easier, if a software would do that automaticly (with confirmation of course)

cheers,

Lots of "unknown add-on", many of which are installed and in use

The resource window should be recognizing far more add-ons than it is. I especially want it to identify everything that is still installed, or at least in use. All of the following are listed as unknown on my firefox, and many are installed and in use and easily identified.

I also notice that Noscript has been uninstalled and left quite a few preferences behind, but Clean-uninstall isn't finding them.

Adaptation to Pale Moon

I would like to use this excellent add-on in Pale Moon browser, a fork of Firefox with significant differences. Would you be interested in porting your addon over to be Pale Moon compatible?

Although PM does not support Mozilla Add-on SDK, there is PMKit for adapting JetPack extensions (basically, a library that provides basic compatibility layer with Mozilla Add-on SDK).

Many developers have successfully adapted their JetPack extensions for PM, as you can see here: https://github.com/JustOff/pm27-sdk-addons/blob/master/README.md

Clean Uninstall opens after disabling an add-on

It's annoying when Clean uninstall is trying to clean settings of an add-on I just disabled. And it also has problems to work when I remove a disabled add-on. It should recognize exactly when I'm removing the add-on regardless if it's enabled or disabled and also shouldn't do anything when only disabling add-on, not removing.

Not opening from addon sidebar

firefox version 45 ........not working with omni sidebar....pls make it compatible with sidebars all addon i have encountered to this day is compatible with sidebars TIA
Other than that its working great......attached gif shows addons working but Clean uninstall not working from side but unning from about:addons
clean uninstall
btw is it true that from ff48 this addon will be able to differentiate between addon disabling and uninstalling?

Version 0.2.0 still tries to remove preferences on "Disable"

Your release notes at AMO states that version 0.2.0 will not offer cleaning prefs on extension disable event (FF version > 52.0). However, in FF 54 in Ubuntu 14.04.5, I see the dialog asking me to delete preferences when I merely disable rather than remove an extension.
