FIB is going to become a public Studio beta in official Roblox Studio distribution in June 2020. This repository is going to be preserved for historical reasons but will not be updated any longer. Thanks for helping us get Future Is Bright closer to release!

DirectX Problems

i have DirectX 12 but its not working for "future is bright" should i downgrade it ro DirectX 11 or 3D?

Certain Map always crashes on ShadowMap

I was digging through old place files to try out this. This map has crashed no matter what when switching to ShadowMap. Myself and a friend both tested. This should be unrelated to #2 as we both are on Intel CPUs. Place file attached.

i5 with 6 GB RAM & intel HD 4000, 8Gb RAM

Weird lines when zoomed out

Not sure if it's my graphics card, or the actual prototype, but weird lines appeared when I moved my camera angle furthest away from me possible.

Weird "big black pixel" artifacts and other lighting glitches happening in my game

When I tested out one of my Groups alleys and tested it in the new lighting, there was so many weird glitches happening to the lighting in both VoxelGPUCascaded and ShadowMap. In VoxelCPU it is normal and runs perfectly fine. One of them was that the normal "white" lighting above the lanes wasn't lighting up but the black lights show up fine. Place not loading up

When the studio opens up its fine but when i try to enter a place or even make a new baseplate the place window becomes completely white while the start page is fine. It doesn't crash just white screen on the game window.

I have windows 10, i5 core and a GTX 750 ti.

SurfaceLight issues

Odd pixels appear around the border when I have a SurfaceLight in a part. When closer to the part, the pixels vanish, but they are visible from far away.

Enabling Shadows on the SurfaceLight removes these pixels.

But having shadows on enabled, I changed the light to face the bottom, and this is what happens:

Poor Rendering with New Engine

Although I do believe the new rendering can be quite delightful, there are some issues concerning switching over to the new engine. I have attached before and after images of my personal fan builds, with adjusted lighting in the new and old lighting engines. The issues appear to be quite distinct.

lighting through transparent objects

i had a spotlight from some train lights and made the spotlight do shadows from objects, but i thought that maybe it will go through transparent objects a little so i put a block in front of it with 0.5 transparency to test if transparent objects would let a little light through it... but it acted like it was a solid object and not transparent (this is with shadowmap btw)

Can't open RobloxStudioBeta.exe

I download the zip, open the folder, and doubleclick RobloxStudioBeta.exe, for a second something is loading but then it disappears and a popup says that it can't proceed because "Qt5Gui.dll was not found". It proceeds to tell me to try reinstalling the program. Once I click okay, the same popups come up for Qt5Widgets.dll, Qt5Core.dll, and Qt5Network.dll. I have tried downloading the zip again but this keeps happening. I can easily find these dll files on my own, I'm not sure why it's saying they aren't there.

some issues I've found that involve LoD and crashing

First bug:
When testing performance by generating a 20x20 square of point light parts, I found that the closer I got to the center, some lights would stop rendering despite the fact I was close to them and when I got further away, they appeared again. Here's an image of what happened

Second bug:
I saw that the shadowmap was no longer rendering any shadows and that there was some random ominous incredibly large shadow that disappeared depending on camera angle. I tried to fix this by going from Shadowmap to VoxelCPU and back, but all that did was crash when I tried to go back to Shadowmap.

Windows 7 shadowmap support.(Fixed, dont mind this)

Shadowmap does not work on windows 7, we have done tests with windows 10 and it works fine with same specs.

I cant use shadowmap on windows 7 myself, as it crashs instantly.

my specs are:
gtx 1060 6gb
amd fx 8350 4.0ghz
windows 7

Please fix this.

This was a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME it doesn't work at all. First, starting roblox studio, loading, loaded everything functions every little thing works but, the screen is still stuck on the menu. I want this to be fixed right now otherwise I'll be stuck in a white screen forever

Custom Studio isnt working

Hello! I seem to be the only one having this issue. Or maybe not, but so far no one has been able to help me.
(Fastfoward after downloading the zip file)
I extract the folder into Documents.
I then open up RobloxStudioBeta.exe
I select new baseplate.
White screen occupies the place where the whole studio should be.
Ive tried to uninstall and reinstall it numerous times, but it still has the white screen. I cant ever get it to work. It might be my windows, but I have windows 10 and im pretty sure its supposed to work with that.
I also then tried to extract it to different files, but it still never works.

Any help please? It will be very much appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Crash upon selecting ShadowMap lighting mode

Specs:
Processor - AMD FX-6300 Six-core
Graphics card - Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti
8gb DDR4 RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate

Studio crashes upon selecting the "ShadowMap" lighting mode. Selecting GPUCascaded works fine. Crashes on any map, no matter where you are, how many programs you have open, etc. I have a DX12-compatible card, 4GB VRAM, and Windows 7 which meets the criteria on the github page.

This really isn't an issue but a solution.

I found a way to make it work on DirectX 10. Search on Start, dxcpl. Click edit list and add the future is bright into there and click ok. Do not exit yet, check Force WARP and then it will start working. It will be a little bit laggy. But this is a solution until he adds it for DirectX 10, which might take a while

LightInfluence acting odd - I think?

This seems like unwanted activity with LightInfluence, but when I set all Ambients to 0, even though there is environmental lighting, the particle practically disappears.

The color is virtually the same at night, you can just see it a little better cause it's darker in the background.

Lighting artifacts, spazzing, and overall shading glitches

I'm guessing this is already known, but I'm gonna put it here anyways.

Shading bugs, lighting has a seizure, and there are lighting artifacts/lines/less-rendered areas all around.
Do note - this only seems to occur for me with SurfaceLights and SpotLights. PointLights don't spaz out like this.

Switching to shadowmap causes instant crash

Whenever I try enabling the shadowmap Lighting mode, studio instantly crashes for me. No lag, nothing. Just instantly crashes with the regular crash dialog box.

PC Specs:

Windows 7 64 bit OS
Intel i3 CPU
4GB RAM

'Graphics drivers seem to be too old'?

I tried running this custom build of studio to mess around with the prototype lighting system to see what features it had.

But when I attempt to open an empty baseplate or terrain baseplate, I see this in the output:

21:29:51.361 - Your graphics drivers seem to be too old for Roblox to use.

I am using integrated graphics on an intel i3 (Which DO support DirectX11). I am able to run ROBLOX at full quality graphics no problem.

DirectX 12 Compatibility

How can I run it with DirectX 12? It says I need DirectX 11 when I launch the studio in the donwload. What can I do?

Support Direct3D 10/10.1

I've been proven wrong before and now the Roblox Studio says my system isn't compatable to DirectX11. This can be a problem I don't know what I can do about it

Shadowmap bug.

When moving around in a light, the shadow wont update, just kinda freezes until i stop moving again.

Place Opening Visibility

Everything works fine, except for actually being able to see the place... can still change settings and properties.
