Blazing fast parser for BrightScript that gives you ESTree like AST
License: MIT License
Since your project is already written in typescript, could you include the typescript definitions in the npm package as well so that we get full typescript support when using this library in our TypeScript projects?
As an example:
return { foo: "11",bar: source.other };
the ASTVisitor calls : this.mergeTrailing(propsAsArray, trailingCommentsAsArray)
Which calls: this.byLine on those props
byLine does a mapKeys and the function projects to loc.start.line.
In this case, both of these have the same start line, therefore the second overwrites the first in the object map and we lose the AST for foo.
I haven't totally groked why byLine is happening yet (or how to test a change like this) else I would submit a PR as I am building heavily on top of this project.
If anyone can offer any advice on how to fix, I am happy to work on it. As it sits right now its a blocker as I am losing nodes.
In the Readme your usage example has the file source being passed to the parse
function and then the value property on the return object is passed to the ast
function. However in the code ast
has the shape of (source: String, type: String) => tree
and seems to call parse internally. Not sure if the readme is out of date or if you need to update the ast
function.

It appears that the parser stops parsing after it encounters the first error. In most modern parsers, they are able to log the parse error and then "recover", continuing on parsing the rest of the file. This feature would be very useful to have in bright
