Fortran runtime error: Array bound mismatch for dimension 2 of array 'mult' (2/1)

This one doesn't make much sense. The error arrises in this line of code:

             if (all(polyndict(j)%multinom_rd .eq. mult)) then

I added the following:

          if (all(shape(polyndict(j)%multinom_rd) .eq. shape(mult))) then
             print *, "j ", j
             print *, "s1", shape(polyndict(j)%multinom_rd)
             print *, "s2", shape(mult)
             print *, "equal?", (shape(polyndict(j)%multinom_rd) .eq. shape(mult))
             print *, "c1", polyndict(j)%multinom_rd
             print *, "c2", mult
             print *, "equalc?",(polyndict(j)%multinom_rd .eq. mult)
             if (all(polyndict(j)%multinom_rd .eq. mult)) then

Which produces the following output:

 j            1
 s1           1           2
 s2           1           2
 equal? T T
 c1           0
 c2           7           1

So the code thinks that polyndict(j)%multinom_rd has shape 1 2 but then when the variable is printed the it only has 1 entry. I don't see how this is possible.
