cannot coerce class ‘"dist"’ to a data.frame

Hi,

I know this issue was reported (and solved apparently) here before, but the solution (detaching package "sf" and/or "vegan") doesn't work for m I'm still getting the same error:

df1 <- add_covariates(df, coord.names = c("lon", "lat"), timecol='date', smoothed = TRUE, units ="day")
Error in as.data.frame.default(d) :
cannot coerce class ‘"dist"’ to a data.frame

I tried on 2 different machines (Windows PC and Macbook), both latest R versions and packages installed; same workflow. However, it works fine on my Macbook but not on my Windows PC, the latter is the better machine that I really need to use for my data.

For now, I can just add the covariates on my Mac and save it and open it up again on my PC as a workaround, but it would be great to solve this issue as I'm using this package quite a bit. Has anyone experienced this issue and has a solution at hand?

Hi Patin:
I am following your vignettes: preparing data to learn the tools, the issue occurred like title when i run the covariate calculations parts, no matter to use your example data "simulmode" or my own data, the error cannot fix. I am trouble in this step now, do you know how to solve this problem, thanks.
