sir's Issues

Not resize option

Maybe it's silly, but I want the possibility of changing only the image
format without changing the size.

No version of sir available in PPA for Ubuntu 12.04 Precise

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Not able to install from PPA, no Precise version available.
2. Not able to force installation of Oneiric version due to unmet dependency,
SIR requires libexiv2-10, but Precise uses libexiv2-11
3. Not able to compile from source because I'm unfamiliar with how qmake works
and I'm a dumbass in general!

Thanks for any help with this excellent application!

Save Options -> Core Dump (SIR 2.5)

Hi,

I've problem with the latest SIR 2.5. Everything seems to work fine, except
Edit -> Options. When I change any option, and then click OK - SIR ends with
core dump.

How could I provide more valueable info?

Ubuntu 12.04/Mint 13.

greetings,

Darek

Please install the supplied AppData file

Please consider installing this AppData file:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hughsie/fedora-appstream/master/appdata-extra/
desktop/sir.appdata.xml

This is used in GNOME and KDE software installers to add the application
description and some screenshots. We'd love to showcase more applications, but
without the extra data file we can't. The AppData file needs to be installed to
/usr/share/appdata/ on Linux and the basename needs to match the .desktop
basename. It would also be great if you could integrate the file with your
translation system (e.g. intltool) to make the descriptions translated.

See http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/appdata/ for more details; thanks!

Richard

Please add MIME types to sir.desktop.

I was going to complain that sir_service.desktop shouldn't be installed to
/usr/share/applications/ but I looked at the source and from the Makefile it
seems it's only installed to /usr/share/kde4/services/ServiceMenus/
So this seems to be a bug in the Fedora package.

Anyway, you could add MIME types to sir.desktop. Like below:

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Sir
GenericName=Simple Image Resizer
Exec=sir
Comment=Qt4 Image Resizer
Icon=/usr/share/pixmaps/sir.png
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=Graphics;
MimeType=image/jpeg;image/jpeg2000;image/png;image/bmp;image/gif;image/x-xpixmap
;image/x-portable-graymap;image/x-portable-bitmap;image/x-portable-pixmap;image/
tiff;image/x-xbitmap;image/svg+xml;image/x-tga;video/x-mng;image/x-portable-anym
ap;

MIME types are all in the same line (in case the post messes the formatting).
I added jpeg2000 just in case it's supported but if it isn't then you remove it
from that line.

Thank you.
