ICA-AROMA with long (averaged "effective") TRs?

Hello ICA-AROMA Github,

I had a conceptual/methodological question re: use of ICA-AROMA. In brief, a public access dataset had a very odd acquisition and long TR (initially, there were volumes with 3-second TRs acquired with alternating flip-angles; volumes were then averaged for an effective TR of 6 seconds).

Would it be appropriate to use ICA-AROMA on this type of data? I wasn't sure if there was any issue due to the odd acquisition (FYI-- I have no clue why those resting state scans were acquired in this way... it is what it is... but I have ~700 of them!). Any thoughts are greatly appreciated! Thanks much!
