If you are here it means you found one of my projects and want to know more about me...

I have been programming for 25 years. I taught myself BASIC by reading the help file bundled with it and have not stopped since. I have a degree in Computer Science and I have worked just about every job in tech starting as a manual QA tester and working up to an engineering director.

Mostly I work in the world of automation and web development but I have been known to work on mobile apps, small games, other desktop applications - really anything that looks adventurous.

I have no fear when it comes to programming which is another way to say I fail a lot and I am fine with it.

Importing sp_widget css as .scss

The css field in service portal supports scss syntax so it would be awesome to import those files as .scss files

Sync Record aborts and tries to sync all records within a table

I was trying to sync a new widget I made and using "Sync Record" in the explorer menu. After querying it aborts and asks if I want to sync a number of records. The only way I can sync a single record if I click on sync multiple records and escape it. This will bring up the menu to sync individual records.

I've attached a screen capture to show you the issue.

"SN Sync: Open Record in Browser" contextual menu action no longer works

The extension no longer seems to be able to open the web browser at all.

Environment details:

• MacOS 10.15.7
• VS code 1.54.3
• Chrome 89

I would love to get updated files via npm run script or cli call

Any chance of splitting this into two repos one, to manage the files/creation/update via npm module, any then this to be a wrapper for this?

I'd start it but I'm not sure you as repo owner are even interested in this.

Slack Channel Support

I am unable to go to the Slack Channel to get help. I created an account, and when I log in it tells me I'm not a member of the channel and to contact the admin for access.

Whole Extension doesn't work after update

Hello,

after the last update I cannot sync anything with SNOW instance.
Also if I wanted to use command "Connect to ServiceNow" I got the error "command 'sn_sync.enterConnectionSettings' not found".

Could you have a look at this issue please?

Cannot synchronize files whose name contains slash

Using the name field to generate local file names is convenient because one can find a file by name. But this field has no restrictions on its format and can contain the slash / backslash character, that is invalid in file names (depending on the operating system).

This bug does not only prevent such files from being synchronized but also any other files from the same directory (all files that are placed in the downloaded collection after the one with slashes are skipped).

Doesn't work on Madrid?

I have tried using the plugin with London and now Madrid and am not getting any records on the sync from tables such as sys_script, sys_ui_policy, etc.

Error 0161:Error: self signed certificate in certificate chain

If using behind a corporate firewall, you may encounter the subject error when this extension attempts to make an http request to your instance.

A workaround is to install another extension: win-ca

This extension makes Windows trusted root certificates available to VSCode extensions.

This resolved the self signed certificate issue for me.

@salcosta There is an open vscode issue related to this, so hopefully they'll address this in vscode instead of depending on extension authors to deal with. But if you want to fix this sooner, I believe you can leverage the win-ca node package.

Also, while your doing your housekeeping, please consider pulling in PR #5 - definitely would like the ability to run background scripts within VS Code.

Error 0161:null

I am trying to sync files from our dev instance and I am receiving Error 0161:null

Connect to ServiceNow asks for instance URL 3 times

When using command Connect to ServiceNow it asks for instance URL 3 times.
Instead it should ask for instance URL, username, password.

Can't sync file without a display name

I have added a custom table that has no display value in the dictionary. As a workaround I used the sys_id for the display but can you also add the ability to use a reference field concatenated with the sys_id?

Auth not possible with active MFA

Hi,

I have currently the problem, that I can't login because my admin user has a active MFA.

I can't disable the MFA for my admin account.

Is there any workaround? Maybe a "personal access token" (like at github) or something else?
Is it possible to integrate oAuth as authentification or a token generator like https://www.npmjs.com/package/node-2fa?

It seems that adding the current token to the basic auth credentials could solve the problem:
