WISHLIST: This code does not compile in CentOS 7 nor recent Cygwin

This code right now only compiles in an old version of mingw + msys (mingw 3.4.2 + msys 1.0.10) which doesn’t even run in Windows 10. It would be nice to update the code so that it compiles in a currently supported OS, and didn’t need a virtual machine of an obsolete OS to compile and run.

Then again, C-evo, the code this is for, also compiles in an obsolete version of Delphi, so the entire setup is for systems which are no longer supported here in 2020.

I’m keeping this issue open, since it is pretty significant, but marking it “Wishlist“.
