Alphabetical list for Codeigniter-Flexigrid

Dear sameersemna,
I'm trying to integrate an alphabet list on the header in the form of javascript buttons like here: http://sanderkorvemaker.nl/test/flexigrid/

But for your project Codeigniter-Flexigrid I have problems to integrate them.

I find this tutorial http://cassianinet.blogspot.it/2012/02/flexigrid-con-codeigniter.html
but I can't integrate alphabet javascript buttons in countries.php in your project. I miss something or I can't understand why can't work.
Can you help me to solve this problem or share me a working demo, please?

Export data

I wonder if you worked or know how to export data to excel results, as can be done with Grocery_CRUD.

No exports with utf-8 encode

The "hide/show columns" dropdown remains hidden when setting height to 'auto'

To see the issue, just set the height to 'auto' on the $gridParams array on your controllers/countries.php file...
A way to be able to see the dropdown menu again is to click in the column separator...
This issue is from the original Flexigrid, since 2010, as can be seen at https://code.google.com/p/flexigrid/issues/detail?id=11
