Deployment error caused by Dialog not being installed

During deployment I was getting multitude of instances of:

*** [err :: 67.207.149.39] debconf: unable to initialize frontend: Dialog
*** [err :: 67.207.149.39] debconf: (TERM is not set, so the dialog frontend is not usable.)
*** [err :: 67.207.149.39] debconf: falling back to frontend: Readline
*** [err :: 67.207.149.39] debconf: unable to initialize frontend: Readline
*** [err :: 67.207.149.39] debconf: (This frontend requires a controlling tty.)
*** [err :: 67.207.149.39] debconf: falling back to frontend: Teletype

I fixed it by adding a step to install dialog as shown below:

task :upgrade_system do
sudo "aptitude -y install dialog"
run "locale-gen en_US.UTF-8 && /usr/sbin/update-locale LANG=en_US.UTF-8"

I'm new to ruby/rails so maybe I was doing something else wrong that caused this by thought you might want to know...
