plotty does not have an "integrated" approach for discrete colorscales, it seems it is something people seem to want so i am considering implementing it at some point, not sure exactly how right now.
In any case you can "fake" a discrete colorscale by following the approach described in issue #21 the difference being that you do not only have integer numbers, you also have every value in between, so maybe you could cast / round your values to whole numbers, this way you would achieve the wanted result.
Is this a possible solution for you?

Thank you for your response @santilland. Currently, I loop through all values and round it to whole numbers. I'm still checking here and there, see if it's fast enough to do. So yes, your solution is possible, but I will check it further.
