This project started off when I decided to make my own version of checkn1x, which also supported project sandcastle

So that got me thinking, I could do this myself, I dont need someone else doing the hard work

Plus quarantine got me bored

I am open to any additions, as this is no longer just a checkra1n bootable iso, it is now a tool for more, and I want to add even more functionality to it, so if you have any ideas or suggestions just add an issue, I really want to make a muilti-purpose tool for both amateurs and developers (I don't see why but ¯\(ツ)/¯ )

The chimera1n feature never worked as it needed ssh and iproxy, which for some reason I can't add without breaking checkra1n, so I guess I'll just have to leave it for now

This repo does not host any source code, it is just hosting useful files for the project, hence just to avoid confusion, THIS IS NOT OPEN SOURCE

For windows users

After checkra1n for windows is released, jailm8 will become obsolete. The extra tools like project sandcastle will not be usable for windows users. For this reason, I am making a windows app with several features. If you want to try it out, you can find it here

Crash/Reboot After Enable Passcode

iPhone X 14.2
Jailm8 / Checkra1n 0.12.0
After successfully jailbreaking my iDevice and installing Cydia and all of my tweaks and other stuff I went to reenable my passcode and Face ID and after the Passcode confirm (second time entering passcode) but before they ask for your Apple ID password my phone rebooted without any prompts.

Is that supposed to happen?

Project Sandcastle Updated

An updated version of Project Sandcastle that can run on an expanded variety of devices. Not restricted, to iPhone 7's and iPod 7 Touch. It is a stretch, but I hope Project Sandcastle can move from a Proof of Concept to an Actual, usable Creation.

Able to incorporate latest PongoOS bug fix?

Hi are you able to incorporate the latest PongoOS bug fix into JailM8 which helps with A9X jailbreaking?

iso is missing partition table, non-bootable image

Describe the bug
Balena Etcher show the bug as written in the title. The result is a non-bootable usb stick.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Load current iso into balena etcher.

Expected behavior
A bootable usb stick.

Orca screen reader support for blind users

Hello, I was wondering if Orca screen reader support can be added for blind users, as this will really help them to perform all the tasks independently.

Successful jailbreak, but boots jailm8 with errors

Not sure if its an issue or what, but using a toshiba satellite l300 laptop (intel celeron t1600 cpu), it works, just shows loadsa things that seem wrong (see attached pic), so far ive managed to jailbreak everytime seemingly fine (even tho checkra1n itself also shows some usb error), just wanted to share in hope they not serious. Thanks though, jailm8 is the only tool (except actually using check on a mac), thats actually worked & on such an old machine. 👍

BIOS doesn’t wanna boot off of USB, not a bootable partion

USB doesn’t even show up in BIOS or my boot manager so can’t get into it

[Help] grub error

When i try to boot into the OS it says

Welcome to GRUB!

• "error: unknown filesystem."
  grub rescue> _

I tried flashing the iso with GPT & MBR but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. 🤔

Whenever I try to jailbreak my iPhone 8 I get this error

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Boot to jailm8
2. Open settings
3. Enable Allow unsupported devices and skip A11 BPR check
4. Plug in iDevice
5. See error

Expected behavior
It should continue on

Also for some random reason when I unplug and replug my device CheckRa1n freezes
