UI Enhancement: Implement Title Navigation for CodeHustlers Website

Suggesting UI improvements for the CodingHustlers website by implementing title navigation. When users click on titles, they should be directed to the respective sections on the webpage, enhancing user experience and navigation. Excited to contribute to these enhancements, kindly assign me this task.

Issues with Mobile Responsiveness and Navigation Bar

1. Mobile Responsiveness Problem:
The website is not responsive when viewed on mobile devices. This leads to a poor user experience as content may be cut off or difficult to read.

2. Navigation Bar Enhancement:

In the mobile view, the navigation bar could be improved for better usability. Instead of a fixed navigation bar taking up space, it could be replaced with a collapsible menu activated by tapping three horizontal lines (commonly known as a "hamburger" icon). This would provide a cleaner and more intuitive navigation experience for mobile users.

mobile_view
tabletview

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open the website on a mobile device or using a mobile device emulator.
  2. Notice the lack of responsiveness and how the navigation bar occupies space.
  3. Suggest tapping on the three horizontal lines to reveal a collapsible menu for navigation.

Proposed Solution:

  1. Implement responsive design principles to ensure the website adapts to various screen sizes.
  2. Replace the static navigation bar in mobile view with a collapsible menu activated by tapping on the three horizontal lines.

I would love to work on this enhancements, @Satakshijain Please assign this to me @ChaithanyaKrishna28

Basic Programming Section Enhancement

The current layout and formatting of the Basic Programming section discussing the best language to start programming and recommended courses could be enhanced for better readability and visual appeal. The content is valuable but could benefit from improvements in alignment and presentation.

I am participating in GSSoC 2024 and I am interested in working on this issue. Could you please assign this issue to me.

Regrading Readme.md file

Add a proper readme.md file so every one will know more about the project and the tech stacks used.#gssoc24

Add templates for issues

Issue templates are very helpful for a collaboration repo. When users identify a bug or want to add a new feature, you can provide templates so you can collect all the pertinent information you need to fix a bug or add a new feature.

We recommend creating a “Report Bug” and “Feature Request” issue template.
you can refer this: https://docs.github.com/en/communities/using-templates-to-encourage-useful-issues-and-pull-requests/configuring-issue-templates-for-your-repository

Some suggested prompts/questions you can add to a “Report Bug” template are:

Briefly describe the bug
What is the expected behavior?
Please provide step by step instructions on how to reproduce the bug
Some suggested prompts/questions you can add to a “Feature Request” issue template are:

Briefly describe your feature request
What problem is this feature trying to solve?
How do we know when the feature is complete?

Reference: https://github.com/Recode-Hive/Stackoverflow-Analysis/issues/new/choose
Click on Get Started button and copy the template to your

Looking for ways to expand!

So basically right now the project do nothing at all just a home page with some nav links .

But what can we do

  • Make it next w3School
  • Make it next GeeksForGeeks
  • Build an online learning system (I did had a working prototype for the same , i build for json schema (Postman)
  • Provide blogs for the roadmaps

Can Be More User friendly And Interactive

Hey Satakshi !!
I had observed few problems in the implementation .They are as follows :

  1. There is very low level of interaction among the webpages .
  2. The CSS part also required some better color combinations so that users feel good while using it .
  3. It can be more user friendly if we create the navbar in a more better way like it should contain different sections for beginners ,intermediate and advanced level coders .
  4. The beginner level opens up and it includes the basic level study material(notes and video lectures/ youtube video links) and road map to reach to next level.
  5. Intermediate includes some more subjects and road map to next level.
  6. Advanced level contains some advance topics of dsa and algo. Also contains related projects ,contributions etc.

I would be grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this project and apply my skills to enhance its development.

Add Topics

In GSSoC'24, GitHub Topics will help the discoverability of your project.

I see that you already have great topics on your repository!
I would recommend adding the name of the company like the software you use to build like "vs-code, ghdesktop" to improve your discoverability.

If you are happy with the topics you have, feel free to close this issue. 👍

Back to top button

Overview:
This feature proposes the addition of a "Back to Top" button functionality to enhance user experience in navigating through lengthy pages within the project. The "Back to Top" button would allow users to swiftly return to the beginning of the page, offering convenience and improved usability.

Proposed Solution:
The proposed solution involves implementing a visually discreet yet easily accessible button, positioned at the bottom right corner of the viewport. Upon clicking or tapping, the button smoothly scrolls the page back to the top, providing a seamless navigation experience. The button's design will align with the project's aesthetic principles while maintaining clarity and functionality.

Fixing Header UI Responsiveness

Currently, there seems to be an issue where the header elements do not adapt well across various screen sizes, affecting user experience.
Objective:
The primary goal of this task is to ensure that the header UI elements respond appropriately to different screen sizes, providing a seamless and consistent experience for all users, regardless of the device they're using.

Proposed Changes:
To address this issue, we plan to implement the following changes:
Utilize CSS media queries to adjust the layout and styling of the header components based on the viewport width.
Ensure that all elements within the header, including navigation links, logo, and any interactive elements, scale and reposition gracefully on smaller screens.
Test thoroughly across multiple devices and screen sizes to guarantee a smooth and consistent experience across the board.

Learn.md

Learn repos should have a LEARN.md file to teach student how to build your project step by step. You can explain how to build your project with text, code snippets, images, or even short (5 minute) long video lessons. As the maintainer of a Learn repo, the LEARN.md file requires you to think critically about how to explain the building of your project and how to also make it engaging. We don't expect you to be an expert teacher, but we would like you to reflect on how difficult it was to get to your level of knowledge, and then provide friendly guidance to help other students to learn.

The Uneven Navbar

image

The navbar items should be in a single line and the navbar style and color should be more enhanced.

Enhancement of hero section.

I found this.

We can improve the UI of hero section by adding spacing and also the font-size doesn't seem correct.

Enhancement of all the sections of index.html

1).In the "three-box" section those three buttons and cursor type can be improved. On clicking those button , those are suppose to show their respective page. But these are not working.
2).All the sections of index.html is of height even more than the desktop but their content is very less. These sections can be improved by applying more beautiful CSS.

So please assign me this task under GSSoC2024 . I will try my best to fully improve this project from these issues.

Thanks!

Girlscript Summer of Code Introduction/Tracking

👋 Hi @Satakshijain,

I am Prince, web developer Girlscript Summer of Code. I'll be collaborating with you on preparing your repo for GSSoC'24 Program

Why are these changes required?
After Analysing last year's contributions and feedback it would be great for students to have a couple of standard readme files on the repo to understand what the project is all about and some issues detailing what they can contribute. This will help you to see increased engagement in your repository as well.

As mentioned students get a chance to learn step by step, how to build this project as well as invite mentors to collaborate and add features to this repo. I will generate issues, which will provide guidance on how to prepare your repo for Girlscript summer of code 2024 on 10th May.

This issue will serve as a tracking issue to track all issues related to GSSoC'24. I recommend creating a new branch for every issue and opening a pull request to track changes so we can effectively collaborate with each other and merge changes when you and I feel like those changes are ready to be merged on your primary branch.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to leave a comment on this issue or any of the other issues that are generated.

I look forward to working with you :octocat:

[FEATURE]: contact us form

I want to add contact us form in the contact section which can be useful to enhance user experience. Please assign this issue to me.

Enhancement of studybasics.html

The content in studybasics.html could benefit from improvements in alignment and visual presentation to enhance readability and engagement. The current layout may appear cluttered or unorganized, impacting the overall user experience.

I am participating in GSSoC 2024 and I am interested in working on this issue. Could you please assign it me.

Add issues

As the maintainer of a Collaborate repo, keeping Issues up-to-date will help the student community understand what they can do to contribute. Issues should vary by the easy (update documentation) to the difficult (add a new feature). The more involved you are, the more opportunities there are to collaborate.

Recommendations:

Add issues of varying difficulty to the repo often. you must add the tag GSSoC'24, Level 1, Level2, Level 3 good first issue etc.
How we cacluclate the Scores on Leaderboard: Every PR one point
Level 1: 10 points
Level 2: 25 points
Level 3: 45 points
Try to add some documentation issues as well it would be easy for beginner contributor to explore opensource through your repo.
Generate issues even if you plan on solving them, so the repository appears as active.
Contribute/commit often to the repo so it does not go stale.

Optimizing Navigation Bar Size and Adding Animations for Enhanced Website Aesthetics

The navigation bar on your website appears quite prominent, sometimes overwhelming the content. To enhance the site's aesthetic and ensure a cleaner look, I suggest making some adjustments to streamline the navbar. Additionally, incorporating subtle animations can further enhance its visual appeal while maintaining user engagement.
