Extracting and opening files

Extracting:
When extracting files, barely any get extracted, only top folder and top file

Opening files: - (This wouldn't be as important if extracting worked)
Opening any files in 7-zip from .vpk crash 7-zip

Can you compile a "dir" .vpk?

I'm currently working with the CS:GO game files and I replaced some sounds, is there a way to compile it as it is in the game folder?
Basically about 150 pak01_XXX.vpk's (each ~100mb) and a pak01_dir.vpk (12mb)
Or would a single "pak01_dir.vpk" (17gb) with all the files work?

The system cannot allocate the required amount of memory

Extension fails to create a vpk when packing multiple folders containing audio files, such as the many mp3s in folders used for TF2 custom character voice over mods. Here is a picture of the error.

Compression level not greyed out

I noticed when trying this out on 7-Zip 22.01 (Win64) that the Compression level option is selectable, but does nothing. Since VPKs cannot be compressed (unfortunately), this option should be greyed out to avoid confusion.
