primo's Issues

Chaumian Ecash

I recall reading about issues with privacy of users being identified by repeated mining and spending those funds on a sync, and it was mentioned that there were some mitigations in place that could be improved. This seems like a perfect situation to look at Bitcoin's predecessors, specifically David Chaum's Ecash (1983).

Ecash has the property that withdrawals and subsequent deposits are unlinkable (what we desire here) with the drawback that a central authority (the node host in this case) needs to sign after every balance transfer. It never had the properties (PoW) that would allow it to become as prominent as Bitcoin, but in this case, would allow for a low-to-zero cost way of allowing users to store their accumulated work, and then later unlinkably spend it on node services, off chain.

idea: hash for action

Love the repo! Thanks for doing this!

I haven't had a chance to actually play around with it, but from what I read it seems this makes a user provide hashes to access a site.

I'm wondering if its possible to make it so the user has to hash for perform some action within the website. A prime use case would be forum posting. Imagine if a user had to perform X hashes in order to post on a forum. This would reduce spam, sockpuppets, and trolling a lot. It makes it so there's an actual cost for posting on forums.
