show-notes's Issues

JSON feed for linuxunplugged.com is invalid

Previously, linuxunplugged.com/json emitted a JSON feed. At some point recently, this stopped being true, and instead it redirects to feeds.jupiterbroadcasting.com/lup, which is an XML RSS feed. This makes sense as a redirect target for linuxunplugged.com/rss, but not for /json`.

The other show feeds all work fine, it's just LUP.

I don't have access to Fireside to properly suggest why this changed and what we need to change to get the JSON feed back.

Some shows have `episode title | CR123` and some don't

Some shows have a nice {{ episode_title }} | {{ show_shortname}}{{ep_num}} and others don't. Coder has this for example and it makes search much better as you can identify which show a global search - er - search, belongs to.

Menu - Show names uncapitalized, incorrectly spelled

Show names in the menu are currently uncapitalized, i.e. sentence case. Some are also missing correct all-caps or hyphens.

Should be:

  • Coder radio -> Coder Radio
  • Jupiter extras -> Jupiter Extras
  • Linux action news -> Linux Action News
  • Linux unplugged -> LINUX Unplugged (note the ALLCAPS)
  • Office hours -> Office Hours
  • Self hosted -> Self-Hosted (note the dash)

Also appears:

Search listing seemingly random, prefer chronological

The search plugin seems to present search results with search term in show titles as a preference, but then the search order seems... befuddling.

Example search term "btrfs":

  • the first two search results include btrfs in the title - very acceptable
  • the remaining search results seem randomly scattered, with not discernible order of preference, despite results including btrfs either in tags, links, or description.

image

Would prefer at the very least a reverse-chronological sort order, newest to oldest as a far more helpful natural search behaviour. (i.e. human typically says "I heard this term in the show recently. Which episode was that again?)

Possible for us to sort search results here or more of a plugin issue?

Certain parts of the site 404

If I try to select self hosted it takes me here this returns a 404 error. And on Linux unplugged loads of the episodes 404. Is this unmaintained?
