Getting started

These instructions will get you a copy of the project up and running on your local machine for development and testing purposes.

Prerequisites

The following software is required to be installed on your system:

• Node
• Npm

Type the following commands in the terminal to verify your node and npm versions

npm -v
node -v

1. Clone the repo

git clone https://github.com/Seundede/chat-application.git
cd chat application

2. Install the dependencies

npm install

3. Create a new firebase project on firebase.com

4. Create a firebase.js and update your firebase configuration

5. Start the development server

npm start

6. This will open the website in your browser on http://localhost:3000
