Just what it says.... Really need the option to save our settings, because I
want to make the program auto-start with windows (which by the way can be
another feature request, but low priority because we can do it ourselves).
I really need your program to do this because there is a known issue with
latest generation Wireless cards and certain routers with the connection
dropping, and with certain settings, a particular driver and your program
pinging a site every second I'm able to stay connected. Your program allows me
to use the internet without dropping every couple of minutes. (3 new computers
btw had this issue all different manufacturers and wireless cards)
BTW, I tried to find another program like yours, but none would work at least
on Windows 8.1 (yours does), ping wouldn't go through or something. Could be
they are using different port or something's that's blocked. Anyway, do you
know of a simple Win8 compatible like yours that will save settings?
Thanks

What does 'connectivity' mean?
Is it a ping?
A HTTP connection?
How long is the connection?
Not much I can do with this tool if I don't know that.

When monitoring an unstable line for a longer period the log file becomes very
long. To identify all line "outages" becomes quite a task.
An "Outage" report that cuts down the Log file to a list of the "Outages" only
(OFF time ON time only) would be a very nice feature.

This is just a simple request to add the functionality of monitoring a network
location instead of an http web address. It would be super handy to be able to
monitor whether or not an ftp stayed available, or if there are intermittent
issues with LAN connectivity.

My apologies for logging an issue via bug report, but it's my only portal I
could find to the authors.
Thank you for conceiving, making, and publishing this product. It was extremely
helpful for providing object triage info to my ISP after a very frustrating 2
months.
Code on!

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
App has worked well in the recent past. Don't know what factors may have
changed, but last couple of days my dsl has definitely been down (via modem
indicator and call to ATT), cannot manually ping any ip address or access any
web site, yet the app shows mostly OK connection with only a now and then "not
connected".
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Redownloaded latest one (141), OS Win 8.0 Professional
Please provide any additional information below.
As said has been very dependable in past. Do not know why not now, again cannot
manually ping but app shows good connection?? Thanks!

Would be nice if we could add an argument to automatically start monitoring the
internet connectivity. My computer rebooted itself a few days ago from
Microsoft Patches (geez). I put a shortcut in the startup to get it to run
again, but I have to manually click "Start Monitoring" to get it going.

Hi. Great little tool, on the surface at least it was just what I was looking
for. But a few little niggles.
#1 - When a disconnect occurs, the program seems to hang, and only pick up /
report the problem after quite a delay - which prevents accurate
timing/reporting of problems.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run the monitor
2. Wait for a disconnect to occur
3. Observe discontinuity in monitoring
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect monitoring to continue on a regular, heartbeat basis, reporting
disconnections when appropriate. Instead, the program appears to hang for some
time before reporting the problem.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
V1.20. Windows 7. Both Windows and Java up to date.
Please provide any additional information below.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run as "usual".
2. Notice that log either doesn't show any problems or very low number of
disconnections.
3. Also notice, that many times the internet connection is very slow to the
point of being virtually DEAD.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It would be nice if ICM could go beyond checking to see a "connection" and
instead check to see if there is a USEFUL connection. Over the past few days,
I've checked my connection using speedtest.net. It will show 50Mb/sec DOWNLOAD,
but UPLOAD is virtually zero or times out entirely, yet ICM just keeps humming
along saying "OK" every 5 seconds. I have trouble getting any website to finish
loading a webpage and my Windows RDT connection is not responding to input. Is
the kind of check I'm asking for even possible? It seems like it would be very
helpful in sending supporting data to Comcast to help them isolate the problem.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ICM 1.4

[deleted issue]
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I am connected to the remote computer via TeamViewer
2. If I disconnect from the session for a short period of time (~5 mins) and
re-connect, the program is still running.
3. If I disconnect for a longer period of time (> 10 mins), the program is no
longer running when I connect, but the log file reports a DateModified equal to
the date/time as my login. aka the program had just shut down when I
re-connected.
4. If I remotely connect and run the program and do not disconnect, the
programs continues to run as expected.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- I would expect that the program would continue to run unattended
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ICM version 1.41 running on Windows XP on the remote computer. Connecting from
a computer running Windows 8.1. TeamViewer version is the latest 10.0.40798 on
both machines.
Please provide any additional information below.
Seems as though a user session is at play - and I have just started using this
today. I will add more info as it develops.

This monitor is to notify you when there is a problem. I would say that you
inform the user that the system is polling but default (setting with checkbox)
the OK messages are hidden.

Rather than clutter up the log with the results of the checking every five
minutes, it would be nice to have an option to just log when the status
changes. For instance:
Sun Feb 09 01:01:01 <site URL> OK
OK until:
Sun Feb 09 02:13:42 <site URL> NOT CONNECTED
NOT CONNECTED until:
Sun Feb 09 02:22:15 <site URL> OK
OK until:
etc. This would still give the user everything he needs, and would make for a
much more compact and usable log file. Thanks for a great little program.
