🛠️ Building and running

  1. Clone project with git clone https://github.com/Shemplo/Neerc-chat-client.git
  2. Edit config config.conf in root of project
  3. Run packaging mvn package
  4. Go to release directory in target
  5. Run jar file with java -jar chat.neerc.jar

Optimize RAM usage

issue: on ~1000 it takes over 500 Mb's of RAM
possible solution: use ListView instead of scrollable VBox

Customization of client

  • Add opportunity to load different skins of client (f.e. from css files)
  • Additionally allow to switch them without restatr of application

Tabs in new window

Make possible to open tab in new window
It can be useful when several chats should be followed at once
