Shina Fox is friendly to the mouse and the eyes, it's fun to use but when you need to get stuff done then keyboard shortcut is still the most productive way for such thing, so this cheatsheet will optimize Shina Fox for productivity while also good for the eyes
So along with the fixes in the userChrome.css, user need to toggle hide the bookmark bar then turn it on again to fix the issue, I don't know why but it work
I am not sure where I messed up, but I can't open those split tabs like your build shows in the gif/thumbnails you have on the main page of split view
Floorp has the same issue with auto-collapse. With the left click pressed, the bar stops recognizing your hovering. Would be nice to find a fix, since it makes it really hard to use an otherwise amazing theme. And it's tailored for Floorp, no less!
-- GREAT WORK! If that's your first time with FirefoxCSS, I'm impressed. --
I didn't dive into your code yet, but I guess the problem, that the arrangement on macOS is very weird, is because apple had the brilliant idea to not use 16:9 screens instead the ratio is about 15:10 (3024x1964), but that's also different between different macbook models lmao.
Anyways, I guess you can get this fixed very easy by not using px or absolute positions in your css, to give it more flexibility.
The hover-only functionality is also a littlebit annoying for me, but maybe it just feels buggy on mac, I didn't try it on my linux machine yet.
If I find the time, I will try to fix it and send you a pull request, but I can't promise.
Ah and additionally, it should be pretty easy to get it all packed in a curl command, so nobody has to configure anything beside's picking a theme. (I know it's easy anyways, but if you want to make it potentially accessible for everyone, that would be something you could think about.)
I did everything according to the instructions, but still does not come out (even reset configs)
Whenever I move my mouse off the window/screen, the tab menu stays open.
This doesn't seem to happen on Windows, only Linux.
Currently using KDE Wayland, but this issue happens with running Floorp via X11 and Wayland (moz_enable_wayland=1)
Same with #1 most people PC size is not big for the current width, will fix this depend on the size the screen so it would look fine anywhere
I will push this to the brand soon but for now you could replace at line 1098 to 1132 with this:
/*============================================================================================*/
/* MAIN BROWSER */
/* Browser Border */
@media (prefers-color-scheme: dark) {
#main-window:not([sizemode="fullscreen"]) #appcontent browser {
border-radius: 15px !important;
margin: 15px 15px 15px 15px !important;
border: 3px solid rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);
transition: border 0.3s ease;
box-shadow: 0 0 10px 5px rgba(0,0,0,0.5);
}
#main-window:not([sizemode="fullscreen"]) #appcontent browser:hover {
border: 3px solid rgba(204, 204, 204, 0.6);
box-shadow: 0 0 10px 5px rgba(0,0,0,0.5);
}
}
@media (prefers-color-scheme: light) {
#main-window:not([sizemode="fullscreen"]) #appcontent browser {
border-radius: 15px !important;
margin: 15px 15px 15px 15px !important;
border: 3px solid rgba(51, 51, 51, 0.1);
transition: border 0.3s ease;
box-shadow: 0 0 10px 5px rgba(255,255,255,0.5);
}
#main-window:not([sizemode="fullscreen"]) #appcontent browser:hover {
border: 3px solid rgba(51, 51, 51, 0.6);
box-shadow: 0 0 10px 5px rgba(255,255,255,0.5);
}
}
Hello.
I'm using the file you shared well.
But I have a small problem, so I'm asking you a question.
It's okay when I type in English in url bar,
When I type in Korean, the same symptoms as the video appear.
Is there a solution?
If there's no way, can't you just fix it on top?
Currently I'm choosing Sidebery for its feature rich and customize-able but for most new user encounter it, the setting and to know use it so that vertical browser can be better horizontal browser can be a bit timing with some learning curve, this will cover some of its important feature with image/gif, how to use it and a good default setting for sidebery
When I search in Chinese/Japanese or several non-english char (for example: @
), the popout will then go back to it's original place, and re-pops out and close instantly after search.
Now I know I know, we have arkenfox.js and Betterfox already but arkenfox.js might break a lot of sites and some of it protection really pointless in the face of using normal firefox instead or tor browser, and Betterfox is really close to being good but with many choices and different type of setting I don't think we need that, we just need a good fast to some extent reasonable privacy/secured browser for everyday use then with a tor browser doing the rest. Also btw you could test fingerprint here https://vytal.io/scan
So I failed to realize that it would take a lot of space on smaller screen since most user PC is about 13 - 16 inch while my is 27 inch, will fix this depend on the size the screen so it would look fine anywhere
It'd be very nice if we had instructions for moving the sidebar to the right while keeping the fancy hover animations working as expected.
not sure what firefox is thinking adding some random element for no reason but a simple fix is all we need
Since there's some feature such as auto-hide item in the toolbar, the highlight border, the MacOS button ( I assume there is), ... and some more that the user want to disable them, so it's better to make it's easy as an option true/false in about:config
slap a clip-path: circle(80%) !important;
should be enough for it
Since for non-Floorp the right side is very empty so turing the bookmark bar into the sidebar for the rest of firefox browser should be nice
Hide every element of the browser when in FullScreen Mode, to turn it into Focus Mode.
Currently TopBar hides, But Sidebery dosent, also accessing FloorpRightToolbar is also permanently hidden.
Idea, Sidebery, TopToolBar, FlorpSideBar, all can be accessed by hitting there respective edges.
This is so that you could focus on the pinned tab without having the whole thing expand.
Currently the workaround is to find an extension that can assign titlepreface or something else from the main-window that won't effect the rest of Firefox, I remember there's some extension like that but I can't find it now, so if anyone see something like it feel free to post it here or some other workaround.
Not quite figured out how to make a right sidebar, as you have in the pictures, and also did not understand how to divide the window into two parts
Can you give me a tutorial on how to do that? Or hotkeys.
By the way, I never understood what is meant by "Custom Icon" and how to customize it, I have SingleFileZ on the right button.
Catppuccin is a great color combination for theme in the long run and it look great too, will integrate this with 0.2, any other recommendation similar to Cappuccin is welcome
When expand the URL bar you would see it go over the browser tab, but when collapse it go under it which doesn't sync well
Inspired by SpitFire-666 pretty nice repo there should check.
We all have our own list of extension sure, but there's a bunch more good extension that we could use to improve our experience here on Firefox, and the biggest reason I want to make this list aside from making people's life easier with finding extension is that some extension consume a bunch of RAM/CPU making Firefox feel really weird and slow and it's real, while my 64GB RAM could totally handle that most people can't and they get really annoyed of what is going on, this will help them to know what is doing it, disable it and find alternative to it on Firefox
Currently we have:
I might add more if the need arise like Waterfox or some other firefox based since it might break without the right setting for each one
