A Simple Full Stack Drive Application

Tech Stack Used

• FastAPI - Backend (Python), also GraphQL for Drive API
• SvelteKit - Frontend (Svelte, TypeScript)
• Deta - A Free Hosting service to host and deploy our app. Also provides inbuilt support for databases and File Storage.

I had also built the same site using Nextjs and React for frontend, here.

drive's Issues

Hash file names

Store the files in a drive with hashes instead of the storing them in directories
This would allow us to implement features like renaming and moving file

Migrate the Backend to Typescript(from Python)

Remove Python from the stack to simplify app's developement.

• Use tRPC instead of graphql. figure out how to do auth and header/cookie passing/processing and context
• Add some type of a type system on top of deta-base.
• Migrate SvelteKit to latest if possible(also svelte 5 if possible).

Migrate To Deta Space

Use sveltekit as primary engine and python as secondary engine
