Bio

I'm Sidney Ferreira, I've been a developer a long time now (more than 10 years professionally). I started at 16 when a friend of mine told me about a "Programming Logics" course. Since then I "sold my soul" to programming.

I'm a self starter and quick learner... Almost everything I work I learned by myself. Including english, PHP and Android. But I'm still humble: from time to time I look for courses to polish my knowledge and I'm always open to learn something new.

    • NodeJs + Angular contractor for this MVP. Joined mid project to help finishing first MVP.

    • Personal side project: a Firebase+ReactJS powered moderation tool for Facebook. The development stoped as I found deal-breaking limitations on Facebook Api.

    • Open source "plugin" for Admin On Rest tool to use Firebase as server. This is a work in progress that includes Firebase and Unit Testing with Jest.

    • Developed an hybrid client using Ionic/Angular and Cordova. Including plugin customizations to better fit the project, both Android and iOS.

• 2014

  • CETIP Tool:
    • Non Public App for car documentation. SenchaTouch + Cordova app, I developed custom plugins for iOS using ObjectiveC.

    • Gas price app. The owner company abandoned the project for unknown reasons. SenchaTouch + Cordova app, I was maintaining it until the project was abandoned.
  • SDA Portal - http://www.adventistas.org/pt/:
    • This is a huge WordPress portal we developed over a whole year. One of the requests was that the portal had distributed installs (one for each department) but they wanted to have a way that one install could fetch posts from other installs, including thumbnails, metadata, also dynamic column contents. Hosted on AWS using Beanstalk, Nginx, Git deploy
    • IASD Styleguide: (http://styleguide.adventistas.org/pt/) was a complex and detailed guide we used to display the contents on the website.
    • IASD_Query: WP_Query customization. It allow the sites to copy posts from each other. This was the engine for the MultiPost Widget. The information shared included thumbs and post metadata. While working in the project, I was able to keep 99% code coverage.
    • MultiPost Widget: This widget is the heart of the system. It would allow to pick one of the widgets from the style guide and customize column size (4/8/12), source (which site), frequency to fetch, reorder, post type, and other details.

• Details: Qikker Online is a great digital agency from Netherlands which I've been working part time. Focused in WordPress development, other than maintenance on some frameworks. I've worked as frontend developer, creating fantastic projects.

Junior Mobile Developer at Neoway

• From Jun 2014 to Nov 2014
• Techs: Sencha Touch, Ionic Framework, AngularJS, UX, ObjectiveC, iOS Development
• Details: Neoway is a great technology company in Brazil and outside of it. My releationship there was short because the project was cancelled and I was laid off.

Web Developer at Nextt

• From Aug 2012 to Jun 2014
• Techs: WordPress, Nginx, MySQL, JQuery, RESTFULL, JSON, Ajax, Responsive Design, SCSS, Scrum, Kanban, AWS, SSH, Unit Testing
• Details: Nextt is a great company focused in UX. There we had mainly WordPress projects but always using OOP, MVC and Testing. My role in this company was to code up most of the challenges our clients had. Working as something near to a Dev Ops, had much fun creating integrations with Google's DFP, SendGrid API and others. Most of my time was around the project "Adventistas.org", which the client can give great feedbacks about my job ([email protected]).

Information Systems Bachelor – Unijui

• From 2001 to 2006
• Highlights: Linux, Unix, PHP, MySQL
• Details: A mix between Computer Science and Administration, I ve learned a lot studying but learned programming with pascal back in 1996. PHP was learned as an extra curricular project and web became my job. Despite being a small university, at that time it was well known for it's linux and unix classes.
