I am a full-stack Junior Developer with experience in Primary School Education and Property Management. I learnt to code to stay relevant in an increasingly digitised world, tutoring English by day and coding by night, until I was introduced to the wonders of software craftsmanship by the passionate staff and students of Makers Academy.
I'm looking for a Junior Developer role to expand my mind, in a team that loves developing great software as much as it loves developing great people.
When teaching, either as a Tennis Coach, Teaching Assistant, or most recently as a Personal Tutor, understanding the individual's character, and tailoring my communication to suit them was necessary for success. I encountered a range of challenges, from the diverse and unpredictable behaviour of students with Learning Difficulties, to explaining the more abstract themes of classic literature to young minds. These helped me develop personal intuition, patience and understanding.
When working in Property Management, I had to sift through large amounts of client information and legal documents. Figuring out how best to organise the client information, and entering it into the company software was crucial in ensuring client relations ran smoothly. It also meant that raw information in the form of data, or legal jargon, was readily available and understandable for both staff and clients.
In my work so far I have dealt with a range of new environments and personalities. From handling demanding parents and each students' individual obstacles when working in education, to difficult tenants and complex legal documents in property management, each area of work presented a variety of problems turned opportunities through patience and careful learning from fellow staff. I see new situations and people as a chance to grow.
