se-hardcoremode's Issues

Non-craftable blocks can be dis- and reassembled

The 0.1-beta readme contains the statement: "Note that you can't deconstruct non-craftables and re-craft them". The "NON CRAFTABLE" component can still be extracted from the non-craftable block and later used for other constructions, so the fun of carving these blocks out of cargo ships and merging them to existing constructions is lost.

As a possible workaround I would suggest changing the component's volume to 5K cubics and possibly putting it in the middle of the components stack - so that any slight damage doesn't outright disable the block and render it unrepairable. The 5k+ property would mean that the component is not craftable in standard assembly arrays by us mere space engineers and cannot be picked up. But that won't help if the block is ground down by large ship grinders or such, so maybe there are other ways.

(also tried to reprocess the placeholder component and got the CTD, but that's just pushing the limits)

Continuation

If you're no longer interested/able to continue development on this mod, would you be okay with me adopting and remaking it for the current Space Engineers version?
I'm a big fan of Better Than Wolves, and anything which can make this game more fun is a must.
I'm particularly interested in ship classes and uncraftable blocks, as that would mean carriers and tugs would be almost necessary, and having some recommended mods like Rexxar's Shipyards (Basically a giant welder-box that only works on stations) would add some great sense of progression, akin to what Flowerchild was talking about.
