Overview

You need to be an Untappd Insider to use this dashboard!

This little side project, "untappd-data-visualised," is designed to visualize Untappd data in various formats, such as charts, lists, and maps. It leverages React, Chart.js, MapBox, and some others to provide an interactive and insightful representation of your Untappd check-in history. Chat-GPT helped me a lot with creating this.

You start by setting a date range, and from there you can start filtering. For example filter by brewery name/city/country or venue name/city/country. After setting filters, the following lists are presented in either a chart or list:

- Top 10 beer styles
- Top 10 breweries
- Top 10 brewery countries
- Top 10 brewery cities
- Top 10 flavor combinations
- Top 10 most drank beers
- Top 10 venues
- Top 10 venue cities
- Top 10 venue countries

Want to contribute?

Prerequisites

• Node.js: and preferably Yarn.
• An export of your data from Untappd (https://untappd.com/user/xxxx/beers) as JSON.
• A MapBox API key. It's free, you should be able to skip the setting up your payment card somehow.

Recent changes

• 04-05-2024: Added sorting filters to the beer overview
• 04-05-2024: Added a basic statistics block as first tile on the dashboard
• 15-06-2024: Added the 'tagged_friends' filter to the overview + bug fixes

Future wishes

• Make this into an actual web app so you don't have to run it yourself.

Known bugs

• Resetting filters doesn't reset the select box values in UI

Installation:

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/sjaakbanaan/untappd-data-visualised

# Change to the project directory
cd untappd-data-visualised

# Install dependencies
yarn install # npm install

Usage

To start the server:

yarn start # npm run start

This will open the app on localhost:3000 in your default web browser. Fill in the form and upload your JSON export and set your home data (you can get these values via Google Maps for example).

Beer type appreciation feature

Wereldkaart

Elk land waar je een bier uit gedronken hebt op laten lichten op een wereldkaart. Geef die een andere kleur als landjes die je nog niet gehad hebt. Wellicht werken met ISO 3166 codes

Coloring the world map

I saw not all the countries light up when checked in.

St Lucia and Dominican Republic for example don't light up.

Beer type appreciation: be able to order by 'name' or 'most drank type'

Right now it's always ordered by sum of the lowest and highest value.

Bug in Frequency Stat Bar

De lijst van bier per jaar in de frequency bar stat is messed up als je maar 1 jaar hebt geselecteerd

De ABV staat op volgorde, maar niet de juiste.

Ik zou de IBU achterwege laten. Veel brouwers zetten die er niet bij in Untappd en het staat ook niet op het etiket

'Top 10 beers' list skips duplicates, but it should get the avg for all duplicate records

Multiple feature requests

Want to:

• Be able to see the checkin location on the map plots
• Next to the top10 global ratings i want to see my own rating
• When selecting a country, keep the entire list but highlight the selected option
• Top 10 most checked in beers
• When clicking a beer in the top 10 i want to go to the checkin and not the beer
• Add pie charts and top combo overview for flavor profiles
• Line graph alcohol percentage & bitterness
• Bar chart for some of the stats (alcohol, ibu, flavors)
• (Optional) Filter on beer profile to see best rated profiles, with multi select
• (Optional) Word cloud with flavors in a specific beer profile range

De titel zegt het al. Een extra filter plaatsen naast de huidige drie. En in het drop down menu ook wellicht cursief de stijlen die je nog niet hebt gedronken
