esmart_mppt's Issues

wana understand

hi , not realy an issue but to understand why that's not working.

Perhaps somethings change with the last esmart Rev:4.2.
Mygreensolar don't work any more , ony work solarmate pc or android.
i made a y cable one side on cloud-box-m2 other on pc computer using the same serial2usb as you specify and solarmate works greate on both side at same time or separte (on disconected or the other)
if i try my green solar pc it recive data only if i launch solarmate on android.
if i launch the emsart_test.py nothing happend , but if i launch solarmate on android data comes.
So perhaps the request message change ?
some have the same issue as me ?

ps: i try with two RPI clean debian 10

Support Setting Sampling Parameters for calibrating readings

esmart3-serial-comm.pdf

DataItemId : 0x03
Section 7.1.4 of the esmart3-serial-comm.pdf

The "MyGreen Solar" pc application has a hidden menu for calibrating sampling parameters. Unfortunately the hidden menu, appears to be broken and changing ANY value in that hidden menu doesn't get saved properly. Leading to INCORRECT calibration of these important parameters.

A few questions

Great work, I look forward to making use of it.

Can you help me with a couple of things?

  1. I bought the following RS485 adapter but found it didn't work at all - that is I could see no data on the interface. I tried using Linux and Windows, including the eSmart software, but nothing. This made me pretty much give up until I saw your work. Can you suggest what the problem might be, or should I just start again with a different adapter?

  2. The application I want to make of this is to control the operation of a heat pump hot water system that draws about 1000W. Having access to the battery voltage and charging current should give me some idea of whether the panels are producing excess power. But can you suggest some way to estimate how much power is being dumped? Or any other clever algorithm that would allow me to run the HWS for a maximum of time while keeping the batteries charged?

Many thanks!

Not Working

I’ve been looking for something like this, but it’s not working for me. I get an error about the global name “fields” not defined. I’m using python 3.5 and I’m fairly new at this language. Thanks for your efforts.
