ADD police district boundaries

after reading '4th district has most crime' , makes a reader ask:

• is one district larger than the other in terms of space
  • does one district have a disproportion amount of population, relative to other districts?
  • can't figure this out if you don't have the boundaries available...

Port wards page to Leaflet/Mapbox.js 1.x

Ditch the postgis db, and draw them within leaflet perhaps.

mapbox is deprecating the tiles that are being used in that map;

and more importantly and thankfully, the city now has a map that displays the wards !

geocoder

Multiple parts and issues:

• find a geocoder to use
• allow user to input address
• find acceptable results, return in drop-down menu
• user selects result, map re-centers to that point.

Redraw boundaries in West Side/Tremont

Redraw the boundaries around Tremont, near west side when/if they change

Any updates should be available soon, since the precincts for the ward boundaries (they're within the ward boundaries, right ? ) need to be set by april 24;

Add the voting precincts

I received the county voting precincts from 2010 to 2019ish through a public records request; should also add these as well although they require a bit of background knowledge and aren't very clear in their organization

Discrepency with Ward 6 and city of cleveland/east cleveland admin boundary in OSM

however, the PDF file http://www.clevelandcitycouncil.org/media/documents/downloads/2014-maps-revised/ward-6-4-17-2013.pdf cutting across woodlanwn and penrose is a smooth line just like the cleveland/east cleveland boundary in OSM is.

Update the outdated SHP

SHP has the proposed boundaries.

add metadata, info about the zoning file

add some info about the zoning file in the README:

• add where the users can request/ask for a more up to date copy;
• 1-2 sentences of what the zoning file describes; e.g. "The zoning file describes what legally can be built in a particular area"
• Add metadata of what each of the columns means;

Cleveland historical annexations

In progress.

Annexations: Compare date lists from Ganson Rose and the 1968 (part c)

I did a spot check of several annexation dates from
Ganson Rose - Key to Annexation Map.pdf part c of the 1968 map
and they appear to be the same; ; but thoroughly compare that the dates
for annexations for all of them to see that they're identical and reconcile any differences.

Obtain census tracts w/ population; make pop-up/hover of them

• obtain census tracts with population inside them from http://www.census.gov/geo/maps-data/data/tiger-data.html
  then, overlay them (likely as a geojson file, with 100% transparency)
  use a tool/tip hover that displays the population in the census tract.
