wpmap's Issues

Pop ups with text (content) get closed unexpectedly

Report of bug by user for map at http://globalrec.org/waste-picker-groups

The bug from the map is the same in chrome and in mozilla, both using with my mac.
It's when a window is open with text when you click over a place (dot).
You can't read the text as the window/image get disappeared immediately.
You can try with Association de Eco Parque Rafey (Rep Dominicana) and you will see what I mean.
It does not happened with the names without text. These ones remains open and you can read with no problem.

Exclude posts from map

Enable the posibility to exclude certain posts from a map:

  • by custom field key (layer group) or value
  • by custom post type
  • by id of the post

Not valid JSON response

Screenshot from 2019-12-19 11-49-04

I've installed and configured the plugin. I insert the shortcode but it tells me "Ha fallado la actualización. Mensaje de error: Las respuesta no es una respuesta JSON válida."

May be this #18 (Add warning notice if post is not geolocated) will help to debug.

Add country boundaries to elements

Sometimes a particular element should be displayed as a boundary (polygon) and not as a point. Would it be possible to have a referenced geojson with Countries, for example, that can be called?

Losing local configuration while upgrading plugin

I know I have to keep my wpmap-config.php but I've lost other features, such as the size of the points in the map.
Could that be configured in the wpmap-config.php file? Or, as a shortcut, where can I edit the sice of the circles in the map?

How to configure wpmap-config.php to enable geocoding to more than one custom post type?

I have a custom post type that has no custom field related: how to tel wpmap to geocode that post type.

The field $default_pt in wpmap-config.php just select the default custom post type to use but not which custom post type chould be geocoded.

In my case the other custom post type that I need to map doesn't have any other custom field as layer group.

Differentitate multiple points in one place

Sometimes points are in the same place (a city) and can not be seen nor clicked (only the top one). Would it be possible to make cluster or separate this points to make then viewable and clicklable?

Add warning notice if post is not geolocated

If wpmap can not geolocate a post there should be a notification in the post (or else where) saying why the post can not be geolocated.

Sometimes a post is not in the map and user has to guess by trial and error why that is happening.

Colour by taxonomy term

Now it is only possible to colour dots by custom field. It'd be great to add the taxonomy as layer group.

In fact: colour by category of post should be the default behaviour for the majority of users.

Add border to points in map

Sometimes too much points create a cluster and it is difficult to differentiate how many points there are.
Adding a dark border to the circle would help differentiate them.

They have already a opacity 1 border and opacity 0.8 fill. I'll like to see a darker border.

Add lat and long coordinates

Sometimes the user needs to geolocate the point manually.
I envision these solutions:

  1. Field for latitude and longitude (it would overwrite the city, region, country fields to geolocate the point)
  2. A map inside the edit post entry to select a point.

Impossible to see different entries in one point

When different entries are set in the same place (a city) it is not possile to see them separatelly.

Solutions:

  • display as adjacent points
  • groups of points with the number of posts on top of it (do not group between countries)

Change name of the plugin to WPmap

For consistency, it'd be great to have the name "WPmap" when visiting the installed plugin list, and not "OSM, CloudMade and Leaflet Maps in WordPress". Don't you think?
