afcon-fantasy-football

This project aims to develop a web browser implementation of the AFCON Fantasy Football Strategy game. Users were able to create a team of players and collect points based on a players’ real world performance simulated in the web application. This was complemented with an attractive user interface to enrich the user experience. Simplified game rules were used for this implementation to ensure the core functionalities were adhered to. The application was built using a microservices architecture with the backend developed in Java using the Spring Boot framework and the frontend was developed using a combination of React.JS, HTML and CSS. Communication between the two occurred using API calls executed by the HTTP library Axios.
