inkplate-6plus-hardware's Introduction

Inkplate 6PLUS Open Source Hardware files

Open Source Hardware (OSH) files for e-paper display Inkplate 6PLUS can be found in this repo. Inkplate 6PLUS is a powerful, energy-efficient, Wi-Fi-enabled ESP32 board with a recycled 6.0 inch e-paper display featuring touchscreen and front lighting. It is part of Inkplate family and it’s open hardware supported by an open-source software library, and it’s the easiest e-paper board to use, regardless of whether you prefer the Arduino IDE or MicroPython. Learn more about Inkplate 6PLUS on Crowd Supply or official website.

add pull-up resistor for GPIO36?

Per the ESP32 documentation,

GPI: GPIO34-39 can only be set as input mode and do not have software-enabled pullup or pulldown functions.

https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp-idf/en/latest/esp32/api-reference/peripherals/gpio.html

I believe this is why I'm seeing unreliable behavior (for example, the Inkplate_Basic_Touchscreen_Draw demo code reports Touchscreen init fail on some boots) as the touchscreen as the GPIO is "floating". I'm not great with electronics design, I'm wondering if there's a simple way to solder a pull-up resistor onto some pads to always pull up GPIO36?

Step file corrections

Hi,

I was looking into how big a battery may be in the enclosure that is linked in the repository, and I noticed the following:

  • The rotation of the PCB was 180 degrees off.
  • The circuit board doesn't fit in enclosure, some scaling issue? Below some pictures.

SD Card slot not center:

Screw holes not aligning:

Are some of those design files old or am I missing something?

Kind regards.

Schematics and Gerber/Layout Files

Hi,
Thank you for designing a refined version of the Inkplate hardware.
The Inkplate 6 Plus is marketed as an OSH compliant product but I was not able to find the schematics and layout files.
It would be nice to have them aswell.

Best Regards

specifications/pinouts for the eInk display?

Where I could find reference material for the eInk display?

Thanks for the schematics and I've been able to find good documentation on the various chips but not for the display itself.
