QGIS Table Joining Service (QGC-TJS) Integration Plugin for SPC PopGIS

Prerequiste

Requirement: QGIS 3.2.x

Repository Installation

1. Goto Plugins -> Manage and Install Plugins -> Settings
2. Add Plugin Repository with following paramters: Name: SPC, URL : http://services.gem.spc.int/plugins/plugins.xml
3. Search for "SPC PopGIS", Install and Enable.

Manual Installation (Alternative)

1. Download the latest release and extract them to your QGIS plugins folder at $HOME/.local/share/QGIS/QGIS3/profiles/default/python/plugins/
2. Rename the extracted folder to PopGIS.
3. Launch QGIS and open menu Plugins -> Manage and Install Plugins.
4. Enable "SPC PopGIS" plugin in the Plugins dialog.

Usage

1. Click on the SPC stars logo to launch the plugin.
2. Select Country, Framework, Datasets and Data before clicking the Apply button.

Download All Geometries Error

Type Error when selecting download all geometries (Plugins > SPC PopGIS > Download All Geometries), shapefiles fail to download.

QGIS official repo

Hi !

Would be great to add the plugin to the official QGIS repo. So far it's not possible because it exceeds limit of 10 megs... Also I have upload permission for QGIS plugins so can push updates without the need to wait for validation.

I guess more aggressive compression won't be enough, so maybe we could download the data dynamically after install ? (just need to be careful to easily allow for updates)

Or any other ideas about implementation ?

FJ EA Residence Status - Pie Chart - Type Error

Type error occurs on Fiji Enumeration Area, Residence status of total population (D14), Residence status - Pie Chart - (total) - 2007 Census. Layer loads in map view and is in editing mode.

FJ Localities Value Error

Value Error when loading Fiji Localities for SPC PopGIS. However Localities layer loads in map view, but editing is turned on.

Version number in metadata

Before making a new release, we should adapt the version number in metadata.txt, so that users get prompted to update the plugin (currently it's still 0.2 despite having version 0.5 tagged).

Download All - Cancel

When downloading all selecting cancel cancels only the current download not all.
