Vote variable for Germany

Dear Sophie,

Many thanks for the useful guide how to construct a cumulative file with ESS data and how to link it to other datasets! One small remark: You decided to use the first vote variable in the German case. I'd recommend to use the second one. While Germany has a mixed electoral system, the second vote is the decisive one as the (proportional) seat distribution in Parliament is based on it. Hence, I think you should use "-de2". Smaller parties get many less first than second votes and using the first vote only would give you a distorted picture of the actual voting behavior.
