filametrix's Issues

TAP with Magnets

Is there maybe a possibility to add the Magnet holders for Voron TAP to the toolhead mounts? Maybe the screw for fixing the cutter arm could be moved to the front, so there would be room for the magnet mounts on the back?

Mounting instruction for V6-R6 Hotend

Hi there,

i am missing the mounting / building instruction for the V6_R6 Hotend.
As shown in the picture the hotend is standing out some mm from the print head back and front piece.
In this case i do not know how the knife would be mounted to work correctly.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Happy Hare Update

Happy Hare seems to have updated I think, and the provided gcodes aren't working anymore. It looks like ercf_software.cfg was replaced with mmu_software.cfg, and there is no variable_standalone option anymore. The ercf_additional.cfg file is not working with the update as well.

bambu hotend .....

How come that the front part is divided in 2 different parts for the bambu hotend?

When using SB_CS2_Main_Buddy_EBB_ECAS_D2F big gap with default cable cover?

Hi,

Not really an issue, but when using this SB_CS2_Main_Buddy_EBB_ECAS_D2F you leave a big gap open when using the default cable cover for the Stealthburner.
I wasnt able to find a adjusted one, I almost assume it exists?

Thanks for the MOD, its a beast! saving so much issues swapping filaments.

bowden contraints issue

Hi,
I'm currently using the E-RV printhead version and find myself noticing some issues with the bowden from the hexnut to hotend configuration.

The bowden cutout seems to be 4.1 mm in diameter but in my observation several bowden tubes have a tolerance to their outer diameters (in my case i have some ranging from 4.12 to 3.98).

When the bowden is not correctly imprisoned and constrained by both front and back halves, it seems that as volumetric speed rises some material builds up inside the hotend's radiator at the interface between the bowden tube and itself...

In this case, the hex nut is slightly pushed upwards (which might lead to some issues later i imagine) and printing gets harder as this build up increases.

I'm currently trying to find some solution in order to prevent this from happening that does not require proper bowden outer diameter. I was thinking about closing the canal like on picture below.

image

Maybe this could also work with an insert instead of the nut that would help block the bowden inside of the part.

Do you guys see any problem with the proposed solution ? I'm going try it out and keep this issue updated as i go along.

Example config / readme update / slicer settings

Hey all,

Thanks for all work done in this project.

I got few questions / issues:

  • can you provide an example config?
  • as happy hare has macro for cutting (_MMU_CUT_TIP) which one should I use?
  • what are slicer settings recommended? for now I set ramming to 0, cooling tube position to 0, but I'm not sure is it correct? If we cut filament I suppose forming tip is not necessary and its only waste of time?
  • What about prime tower? Now my machine moves to prime tower, stops for half second then does the cut and goes back to prime tower. That first move to prime tower is useless but how to make it like on your vide on YouTube when on filament change it moves printhead directly to cutting position? I'm using Orca Slicer.
  • happy hare says that filament got stuck in extruder - after cut filament is not retracted from sensor

Latch is weakened - here is a stronger one.

Hi
Thanks for the Filametrix. It is great. However using it, I find the latch has been weakened too much giving room to the ECAS. See picture below.

IMG_2159

Below is here a modified version of the latch that is slightly enforced where the break is most likely to occur.

Build Volume Collision

How do you prevent the toolhead from colliding with the gantry mounted cutting point? It appears there is about a 50mm(Y) by 25mm(X) square in the back left corner where the toolhead could collide with the depressor.

M2.5 bolt

Is there a reason for using a M2.5 bolt instead of just using a M3 bolt for the knife holder?

I have plenty of M3 bolts in a lot of different length and head types but almost no M2.5 bolts. It seems with a little modification, M3 could also work.

edit:
I've modified the files a little and tried a M3x16 SHCS and it seems to work and seems to have enough play.

HGX large gear cw2 remix

I finished my filametrix remix. I picked up a large gear (HGX) and i remixed a mainbody created by someone else that adds a ecas/filament-sensor, now we have a model that works with filametrix. https://www.printables.com/model/641383-clockwork2-large-gear-hgx-ecas-ercf-filament-senso . The model is tested by myself but i'd welcome anyone else to print and test it. I really like the filament sensor in this model as it uses the actual gears to sense the filament so you know exactly when the filament is in a gripped position.

D2F switch does not trigger reliably on filament.

Hi!

I printed SB_CW2_Main_Buddy_Cutting_with_D2F_ECAS.stl, took a D2F Omron switch from an unused LDO klicky probe kit and used a 5.55mm 304 stainless steel ball, but the switch does not trigger reliably. When wiggling the filament sometimes the switch triggers.

I must be missing something obvious, do you have any pointers on what could be wrong?

Rapido CAD/STL

Not an issue, but I took your CAD modifications and applied them to the Rapido Toolhead design and created the CW2 main body for the ERCF w/ ECAs, bearing switch, and SB2209 Canbus mods

@CheeseFrog V2.4559

Rapido & SB2209.zip

The dual D2F SB part has a major flaw

When the part for the heat insert was added at the exit path of the CW2 the entire filament path between the last sensor and the insert was not reduced to 2mm so there's a lip inside the part for filament that has any amount of curl to catch on.

image

That circled section should be 2mm straight through.

Supporting Rapido UHF / Rapido 2?

I'm wondering if anyone has adapted to the new Rapido 2 series, and/or the UHF version with extended air channels? Otherwise I might hack something together

Question about Voron SW

Good day,

I'm a Voron Switchwire owner and due to the design of this printer, I have to put a depressor unit on the z-axis instead of the y-axis and I don't know how to configure it. I've changed "variable_pin_loc_y" to "variable_pin_loc_z" but of course it doesn't work :) There is any possibility to use depressor mounted on z axis?

Thanks in advcance
Best,

Radek

Supporting EBB SBxxxx + 2 D2F: Best of all worlds?

I'm wondering if somebody has hacked together a toolhead version that has both 2 D2F sensors, as well as being compatible with the EBB SBxxxx boards? Otherwise I will do some SCAD hackery to combine the two worlds!

Bondtech LGX lite // Canbus // ball bearing filament sensor

I like the idea of cutting the filament, b/c I already ran into problems with the sensor and the tip finding its way there.
If not planned already, could you add support for the bondtech lgx lite?
Maybe the ball bearing filament sensor could be optional, with the cutting feature it should not be a problem anyway.

I guess the lgx lite is widely used along with the Canbus 2209.

Which CW2 motor plate to use?

I printed your EBB main body and the current CW2 motor plate at VoronDesign. The top alignment tab on the main body does not match the recess on the motor plate. Which motor plate should I use?

Can't Find "Cutting Point on Gantry with Servo" Feature

I was going through the Readme of this cool project and stumbled upon a mention of a "Cutting Point on Gantry with Servo." I tried to find this feature within the project's files, but no luck.

Could someone point me in the right direction or give a hint about where I might find more info about this?
