Interested in helping?

There are 2 ways of helping

  1. You can add more data to the country data inflation pipeline to improve fidelity of the data. Check the countryData folder for more info
  2. You can participate in the development, check the issues, they are organized in 2 milestones:
    • V1 is when this is Proof of Concept ready. It can be validated by an expert, so we know if our data is fine, if the approach is fine
    • V2 is our MVP, we can release it to the public, and become famous.

raise-calc's Issues

Fix Linting and Prettier

This is bugging me out. It would be nice to have a minimal linter for this project. It doesn't even yell at me when I reference a non-existent function or variable (I don't think I need TS to do that do I?).

Also, I think prettier is not working correctly.

Let's just set up eslint and prettier, and run it in the project.

Add I18N support

Let's start with an English/Spanish translation. Don't use any CMS for now, we can attach those later, just JSON dictionaries for now. We can iterate that for later.

  • I18n - I18n Mechanism Installation
  • I18n - 100% Coverage of strings in the UI
  • I18n - Selecting the language should also affect the URL.
  • I18n - we can research inferring the language and country from the IP.

Make this thing responsive

  • Make the form responsive
  • Make the results page generally responsive
  • Improve the chart to be clearer in smaller screens

Move over to Typescript

It might be a good idea to move to TS.

I don't feel like doing it myself yet, but I think I'm starting to miss the typing information a lot.

Meta - Form V1

image

The form should let you

  • Select a country with an autocomplete
  • #12
  • Select the month/year where where that raise was set.
  • Click a button to take you to the results page, which should be something like /results?<ALL THE DATA OF THE FORM>

Extra functionality:

  • The form should be able to pick up the data of the URL when loading the page.
  • The country should be searchable by the local name.

Meta - Results Page - V2

  • Dynamic form support
  • I18n Support
  • Get someone who knows how to do good charts and graphics to explain inflation, buying power and whatnot.
