Description

Canvas is a Swift library that acts as a wrapper for CoreGraphics drawing. If you want to perform any operation involving Core Graphics context, you're forced to use C-style API which doesn't look at all like Swift and can be a pain. Canvas aims to bring a swifty API wrapper for CGContext operations.

Example

Let's assume we want to draw an image with solid background. IOS Developers are pretty usage to solving it this way:

UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(CGSize(width: 50, height: 50))
let context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext()
context?.setFillColor(UIColor.red.cgColor)
context?.fill(CGRect(x: 0, y: 0, width: imageSize.width, height: imageSize.height))
if let image = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext() {
    //Do something with the image
}
UIGraphicsEndImageContext()

with Canvas, it's just this

let image = UIImage.create(size: CGSize(width: 50, height: 50))
    .fill(with: .red)
    .render()
