Sahara: Old-age Home Application

The Old-care management system aims to streamline information storage and access, offering an efficient and user-friendly solution for various aspects including members, doctors, medical records, and assistance. Moreover, the system addresses critical administrative concerns by ensuring easy accessibility wherein since past years information was stored through penned pages.

Installation

To install this project, follow these steps:

1. Clone the repository.
2. Navigate to the project directory.
3. Run npm install to install dependencies.

Objectives

1. Primary

• Our main aim was to implement a real life project to gain a practical experience and to understand the working of the frontend and backend using a server.

2. Secondary

• To reduce the paperwork of the old age management by storing and retrieving the data in quick seconds which were previously stored in traditional ways.

• To handle minute details and provide necessary details easily.

Approach

The entire project was divided into the following steps which is as follows :

Key Features

1. Password Recovery via Email: Implemented functionality for users to recover their passwords securely through email, enhancing account security and user convenience.

2. Improved Accessibility: Systematic data accessibility for appropriate data recovery of residents.

3. Optimized room occupancy: Timely tracking of vacant and occupied rooms available, automatic vacancy increment whenever it becomes available.

4. Independent portals for administrator and guardians: Separate portals in order to provide necessary details in quick seconds.

5. Timely alerts: Alerts are sent to the guardians of the residents via email whenever new medical record is added after checkup.

Conclusion

• Our management application integrates Python and MySQL to efficiently manage member records, notify guardians via email after health check-ups, handle employee and room details using triggers, and provide access to medical records.

• Guardians can securely retrieve passwords via registered emails and communicate directly with doctors.

• The system enhances operational efficiency, promotes proactive care, and ensures seamless information flow for better resident management and family engagement.
